I just blew my car up and of course it was my own stupidity. I was running a stock jdm 6 bolt with a slowboy g60 turbo, 750s, and a whole other grogery list of bolt ons. anyway while tuning it tonight it lost power and started smoking bad. Air fuel never went lean but I guess 24 psi was too much. pulled the plugs and cylinder 3 plug was drenched in oil. my guess broken ring and or piston. I am looking to put rods and pistons, head studs gasket etc in it now but I dont know if I should buy a crank also. I am only looking for 400-450 reliable hp will my stock crank hold up. Keep in mind I plan on autocrossing the car and reliability is of high importance:cry:

Your stock crank will hold that and then some. There are guys that use stock cranks on cars that are well into the single digit range and faster.

*For example Ken Davis made 1017awhp on a stock crank. At 400-450 you should have no worries.

That's partly true. A good conditioned crank will handle what most DSMers will throw at it. If you lost cyl 3, you will need to open up the shortblock and look at the crank itself. If there are scratches that you can feel with your fingernail, you will need to replace the crank. DO NOT cut the crank.

I guess I should have been more specific, maybe HIS crank can't, I was more so thinking of stock cranks in general. Polishing a crank should be okay thogh, correct? I know the cutting will go through the nitride coating but I ran a polished crank with no ill effects on my 3065 car.
