I am currently at 46,xxx miles on a 1999 Eclipse GS-T with a remaining 9K miles on my 5 year 55k mile warranty. . . But the car was purchased on May 17th 1999, so techinically the car is 5 years and 9 days old.
I am having some serious signs of crankwalk (that showed up quite quickly).
Difficulty getting in gear, vibration of the clutch pedal, difficulty shifting, ticking noises, and the rpm drops about 40-70 rpm when the clutch is depressed. rough engagement. . . the signs add up.
I am taking my car in this weekend to have their tech look at it on tuesday (they are closed on mondays for some reason). the car should be nice and cold, after resting for a couple of days outside.
If this turns out to be crankwalk, what do you think my chances are of getting mitsubishi to cover the cost of repair? (or with luck a 6 bolt swap!). I will be all of 14 days out of warranty at the time the mechanic looks at it.
NOTE: I have the usual bolt ons, but no internal work, stock clutch, stock flywheel. Oil changes with Mobil 1 syn. every 3500 miles. But nothing that would have prematurely voided my warranty.
