will mitsu gasket work on hyundai valve cover

hey there, i have this pretty clean hyundai vc that i picked up from the junk yard... mine is cracked horribly and spewing oil everywhere... i have read post where people say they just used the mitsubishi gasket... will this work??? i have the hyundai spark plug seals, but my hyundai vc gasket is in bad condition... heres a pic of the new vc with the mitsu gasket... a little gap around the holes? any1 know will this work? trying to put it on today...

It should since they are the same aside from some cosmetic differences.

but will that gap around the holes cause a leak?

No it will seal still as long as its still new and pliable. Id be more worried about the plug galleys leaking by using the old gasket.

ok right on man, bout to throw it on and see whats up.... on my way to home depot now for some longer bolts... im not too worried bout the old plug seals, they aren't bad... i have a set of new mitsubishi spark plug seals, but they are way too small, got a pretty good size gap around those too so i will stick with the hyundai's... anybody else got anything to say about this situation?

I have been using the mitsu gasket on the Hyundai valve cover for about a year now. I have had no leaks with it, but I also use a dab of rtv all around to help seal it up for sure.

hey thanks for the input man... do you have the smooth black 1 or the 1 that says hyundai on it?

well i did it, got me some 6mm x 35 bolts and used those for the outter holes. i used the mitsu gasket, with the hyundai spark plug seals and some rtv. came out pretty clean! hope it doesnt leak... ill post back for sure. heres a pic of my old cracked 1 and my new 1.

p.s.-------------my plug wires are caked in oil from my cracked vc, really sucks because i just bought them and they still only have a few hundred miles on em... anything i can use to clean them up???
