First off i want to say hello to everyone since im new to this forum and to dsm for that. My question is im trying to piece this out as i go, no hurry, i have a 95 talon tsi awd auto, i have a fmic and wal255 and goin to run big 16g with 650injectors with gm maf and trans, my question is will the the maf trans be enough to do the job, ive looked at dsmlink and to be completly honest it all confuses the hell out of me LOL. Im not looking to go way overbored on this motor and im am replacing the motor in a 5 or 6 months and then goin all out, just need me something to get me by till then, ive looked at safc and hear good and bad things but thats with everything out there. ty for your help

I would suggest going with the DSMlink, it will give you the ability to control the fuel flow, rpm, and many other important settings. As far as understanding how to use it, just search the forums for a guide. I was able to find a very helpful one a little while back. Unfortunately I seen to find the guide now.

You will need more man. At least SAFC. Link is the top notch tuning device though

I had never ventured into tuning before, but just got DSMLink and it is amazing. There is a lot of knowledge and tutorials both here and on ECMTuning's (DSMLink's) website/forum.

Even though DSMlink has a lot to figure out, there are plenty of people here, and on ECMTuning’s websites, to help you. Similarly, there are helpful people here for the SAFC, yet it appears that there is not as many compared to DSMlink users. I agree with looking at DSMlink as a wise choice for tuning your Talon. I have noticed that after settling for a SAFC, many people soon sell it to get DSMlink anyway.

As stated, Link is the way to go, there are plenty of experienced people on both boards. There are also a lot of how to's on ECM Tunings website. Also, you can go for V3 Lite and save yourself some money since you won't be getting too crazy with it. Then if you need the complete package, then you can upgrade.

appreciate it guys, i think im just goin to have to take the leap and do the dsmlink, and might as well go with the full, no need to buy maf trans when i can just buy the cable and do it that and plus will be cheaper unless i can find one on our marketplace and get to send in my ecu to get socketd also

Link has so many features you won't get with an SAFC it's not even funny.
Just buy Lite and call it a day. You cannot go wrong with it, and I'm sure you can find someone who can tune with link, if not learn yourself.

Welcome!

You're making the right choice OP. You can't even begin to compare SAFC to link.

There's more to learn, but once you make that initial investment it will pay you back every time you drive the car. :thumb:

More to learn, more to do, but much better after the initial learning curve.
