IV'E GOT A COUPLE OF COUSINS THAT ARE TALKING TRASH ABOUT MY ECLIPSE. YEAH IT IS AN RS BUT I DONT THINK MY 95 IS THAT BAD FOR ME BEING ONLY 17 AND I BOUGHT IT WITHOUT ANY HELP.
I REALLY DIDN'T WANT A FAST CAR JUST A SHOW, CAUSE RIGHT NOW MY CARS STRIPPED DOWN READY FOR MY SYSTEM TO GO IN. I KNOW MY CARS ONLY PUSHING 140HP. BUT DO YOU THINK MY COLD AIR AND EXAUST HELP VERY MUCH CAUSE I FORGOT WHAT IT WAS LIKE NOT TO HAVE THEM.
OHH YEAH CAN I TAKE A 95 CIVIC (NO MODS), 98 CAVALIER (NO MODS), 92 240SX (LOUD AS HELL EXAUST), 92 PRELUDE (NO MODS),
AND A 92 ACCORD (INTAKE AND EXHAUST
TELL ME WHAT YOU THINK.
I WOULD REALLY LIKE TO SHUT THEM OUT AND TURN THE TABLES ON THEM

all depends on the models of the cars for instance if that civic is a auto DX, you got that EASY, but if it's a 5-speed EX....they'll do a mid 16 stock and a stock 420a will do a low 17...but with mods it'll be close to even (I/E) The caviler and accord should be close, although you should beat them, the prelude, I have no idea, and the 240sx....hmm...I don't know, heh....

If the lude is a 92 SI , he will smoke you easily. That is If the lude is a 5-speed.

What kind of transmissons do these cars have ?automatic or manual? It is a night and day difference.

my friend almost lost to a 89 crx hf with i/e. My friend use to drive a 98gs with intake. He only won the race by half a car. so if those hondas are ex models u will get beat bad. The 240sx will beat u.

all of the cars i wrote about are auto exept the 240sx and the cavelier.
the prelude is an auto matic and i think the 92 is base model (not si)
and besides ive already raced a crx and really smoked the crap outof it
my car is really light right now too
completly stripped
i think the 240sx runs mid 17's dosent it?
well my car runs really rich with a full exaust and downpipe plus cold air intake, wires, you knwo
what should i be running anyway?

When I had my 1988 325i vert a/t I could take n/a eclipse's by like a car. But when I raced my friend in his 240sx he would get me by like 2 cars all the time the only way I would get him would be from a roll from like 60 to 100.

I dont think the RS puts 140 down. I think its more like 100. The GS will put about 140. The CAI, and exhaust will help; youll get probably about 15-20 HP from both mods. Anyways just race him and show him which car is boss!

THE GS AND THE RS ARE THE EXACT SAME HP
140
WITH MY MODS, MAYBE I HAVE UP TO 160 IF IM LUCKY

Someones smoking a crackpike today?? j/k bro....RS is a bit faster than a GS because it is lighter..ive seen stock RS 5 speed against 5 speed GS and the GS absolutely get dominated at some point in the race. RS and GS both come with a 140 Horsepower engine..however..as far as wheel horsepower its somewhere between 115-120.

Ok first of all a stock 5 speed EX is not quicker than a RS or GS Eclipse. I use to own an RS so i prolly know more about them than you. Ive raced an EX "nopi sponsored" and he has i/h/e, at the time all i had was cold air intake and a k&N filter...i beat him pretty bad about 5 cars to be exact and i was Auto and he was 5 speed...And some of yall need to quit giving EX hondas so much credit because they do not run mid 16 stock..As far as all those cars identified17 has listed..it all depends on wether its an auto or manual..most of those cars you listed are very beatable if u own a 5 speed eclipse. It all depends on any mods they have done to the car. I think you will beat all of them in my oppinion if there all stock. When i had my RS..ive beat all these cars you have listed. That 92 accord you listed you will fry him instantly..thats a waste of your time right there. As far as you owning a n/t..keep it a show car and dont really spend your money trying to make it fast..i tried the same thing and in the end it bit me in the butt and i was forced to sell it and buy a GST. Its not worth Modding a 420A in my oppinion...because you will save so much money if u just go out and buy a Turbo Eclipse. And plus you shouldnt care what your cousins think of your car. I had so many people talking shit about my RS even when it looked like a worthy race car but i never tried to be big and bad about it..i had a body kit, rims, sound system, and a whole lot of stuff just to make it look nice..yet it still got trashed because it was a N/T. Not many even respected the fact about all the work i had done to make it look show car worthy because i knew my RS would never be fast. But hey if Modding your 420A is your cup of tea...all respect to you.

Yea always good to have basics to go with your SHOW. But seems to me like you know what your doing..keep it up.

And to say your way ahead of me on the show..if you ever saw my ex-car...yur jaw would drop cause i spent well over $5000 in show my friend. This does not include labor at all. At the previous post i only mentioned 25% of what i actually had done in terms of "SHOW"

Naw bro im not sponsored. In my above post i pointed out that the guy who drove the EX was sponsored. Like i said before man..heres the way i see it. If your in to show cars..than a N/T is the best choice. If your in to hardcore performance, than a turbo eclipse is the way to go. The N/T and the turbo both look great as hell (basically same) and probably the best looking car on the road in my oppinion. All your cousins are probably jealous that there car looks nowhere near as good as yurs..thats if they even own one.

And i wouldnt be surprised if you are sponsored somewhere in the near future with all the work your putting in your eclipse. Being sponsored is somewhat difficult but usually ive heard you apply for being sponsored and if your chosen, they help u hook your car up wether partially or fully.

Ok first of all a stock 5 speed EX is not quicker than a RS or GS Eclipse. I use to own an RS so i prolly know more about them than you. Ive raced an EX "nopi sponsored" and he has i/h/e, at the time all i had was cold air intake and a k&N filter...i beat him pretty bad about 5 cars to be exact and i was Auto and he was 5 speed...And some of yall need to quit giving EX hondas so much credit because they do not run mid 16 stock...

uh...I beg to differ, seeing as though I don't have either of those cars but I have beaten both in my 1.8 liter mirage....

Ok, I raced a civic EX 5 speed with a system with a shitty driver, no engine mods, and I beat him by about a car and a half, put a decent driver in that civic and it would've been mighty close..I still think I'd have come out on top though by like a half car...

I also raced a 420a Talon Esi automatic with intake and exhuast...and I had a rediculously bad launch and spun my tires forever and still pulled in first, then lost more traction into second, and STILL pulled and more in third...and ended up beating him by 3 cars....with a decent driver an EX civic should beat a 420a DSM if it's auto, but if it's manual, then it'd be close....


And for IDENTIFIED17:
A 420a DSM isn't an easily moddable engine, as in I don't think the engine responds that well to mods...Not saying it can't be done and that the 420a sucks, but why not just get a turbo DSM...thats if you want to be fast...if you want to be fast don't waste your time on a NA DSM, unless you want to be a sleeper and suprise people which is my goal...haha a mirage? c'mon they suck stock, but..I like to suprise people...so hey if you want to mod the 420a...go for it!!!

But as you said, you want to be show...which is the way to go with a 420a...then don't bother racing just be like "ok...I don't race my car, I just want it to look nice, I know my cars slow and I'm proud". That's what my friend did with his caviler, he'd always try racing people until he always lost and then relized "ok, I don't wanna be fast anymore, I'm sticking with show"

Everyone goes through alot of stages when they buy a car...like for example me..i bought a 1997 Eclipse RS about a year ago..my friends told me nooo dont do it because there slow blah blah blah..i didnt listen to them because i didnt care because i was more in to making it show quality..than came all these ricey wings, neons, mufflers, body kits, painted interrior and other crap i started putting on my eclipse..i even started racing it and won some lost some..but then as soon as i went through a few stages..i finally realized that Speed is what i wanted..and thats what i have now..the funny part is my friends who told me to not buy an RS also went through the same stages i went through..believe me..sooner or later once you drive a fast car..believe me..you wont even care about show. Every single Ricer you see on the road with altezzas, aluminum wings, mufflers, will one day realize that there car is slow...thats when they get beat and thats when they will want to buy a real car..its so funny to think of it sometimes how so many ricers these days that drive purple or pink civics put a fart muffler, an aluminum wing, and a type R sticker on the back of there car and all of a sudden they become racers..but there cars are still slow as shit..i just laugh at people like that..because there is a definition of being "SHOW" and a definition of being a "racer", and in my oppinion, you could only be one of them and those Ricers in there civics dont realize that, they think because thet got altezzas, aluminum wings, thats there car is a jet. But Identified7 has made it clear that he wants a "SHOW" car and he wants to have the basics on his car to go with his "SHOW". To me that is great thinking. My 2 cents.

Considering i beat a 92 Talon TSI in my RS from a 45 MPH roll...he was ahead of me by 1 car untill i reached 75 when we were almost dead even and then i slightly passed him by 1/2 car. Im sure off the line he would whip my ass up untill whenever the race ends..but your making statements that are not true..its just ridiculous. All those cars he listed can be beaten. When i beat the TSI i had a CAI, K&N filter exhaust, headers, and pulleys. Dont always be too sure because youll always get surprised ..and dont underestimate every car. I will still say my RS was slow but hey i beat a TSI and a 96 GSR like i stated and explained in previous posts so please dont make a comment about that untill you read it first ..maybe my RS wasnt that slow but every time i would race a 2g Turbo or AWD..id lose by like 9 cars.
