hey...once i get my brakes replaced and the car put back together im gonna go race my friends 95 camaro 3.4 liter...he said he beat a grand prix gtp by a little...i have another friend a gtp who i havent raced yet and he says that he wouldnt have won. anyway, all the camaro has are some ### glasspacks...all else stock....auto. i have k&n, no air can, free mods, so i should be at high 14's right? who will win i think i should, but i want to ask before i go...also, could i beat my friends gtp right now?

Most Likely. I beat a 99 GTP with my 98 GSX.....intake and exhaust mods only.

in my bone stock talon that was overheating i managed to beat a 93 V8 Camaro 5 speed. I did also stomp all over a 3.4 Camaro while stock too but thats no fun i like the v8s and the face they make when you blow doors on them in a car with half the displacement as they got. I guess it all depends on how well your car runs and you drive it. GTP shouldn't be a problem either. For the short time my car was stock i was keeping up with most 5.0's i came across all i needed to start beating them was a fuel pump and 15psi of boost.

well...ok...great on the 3.4...it will be fun...since we have known eachother out whole lives...(even born on the same day 5 hours apart) now it will be....uh...5 cars apart?....more? also...this other kid i know just got a newer z28...(LT1) ill prolly race him...but he will take me out, right? and this other kid just put a turbo on his crx...hes light...but his cluth slips really bad...i know i got him.

If you're doing high 14's the z28 shoudl take you...they run high 13's stock...the V6 Camero is an easy kill. They do like low 16 1/4 miles stock... GTP's are pretty quick but you should get him easy...They should be doing mid 15's maybe? I don't know...

You should be able to take them all...

You should be able to take them all...

You should have problems with any LS1 in decent shape.

I've personally helped change the supercharger pulley on a GTP, and it put down consistent mid-high 13's.

Just think of it this way. There are 2 ways to go fast, boost or displacement. It's got both.

Ok its pretty clear what we all think.. So make it a challenge. Eat a cheeseburger, and miss shift a couple of gears. Better yet give him 3 on the fly by. You'll still kill it.. Oh don't foreget to invite his V8 buddies along to watch you kill this v6 POS.

gtp's are slow stock. and the v6 camaro's are slow too. they are both running in th 15s. any mod on your car will just make the race more useless on your part. unless you are really intent on just beating the crap out of him

Ya my freinds gtp ran a 15.3 with a k&n plus removed air box... my talon use to run 15.3s bone stock. (I was a rookie launching a FWD...2.4..ouch!)

i walk 5.0's and v8 camaros in my 95 tsi awd, and walked a 3.4 v6 camaro in my 99 taurus like 3 days ago, there slow

k... took along time to finally get around to it...but we raced today...and: STOMP! thats about it...i had alittle under 3/4 of a tank...and he had a little over 1/4 tank...with a big sound sys...
we raced 2 times...he counted off...and the first race he got the start on me...but i flew right by him....we didnt even go a whole 1/4 and i had a ton of space on him one of his friends with an old 3.1 cam watched us,
he never saw a talon race before...and when we pulled up to his house before we raced...he was already talking to my friend before i got out of my car...but when i opened my door i heard him say to my friend "you gonna race this rice burner?" but after we talked for a min...he said he thought i would win. afterwards my friend was telling me how i would waste a gtp....i dont think waste...but we will see soon enough. just thought i would post since i got off the bench for a bit, i know its nothing amazing.

hey, i dont mean to beat this thread into the ground...and im sorry for bench racing, but i have a couple more questions...
i know this kid with a 300zx tt and i know he has a pef. chip...any idea how much horse he has? i know i would get killed, (i want a 300zx right now), but if i had a 3" exhaust and 15psi, how much power would i have, and how badly would i loose then? thanks all.
