Im just wondering if anyone has had any issues with getting recall work done since their car is modified. Any experience?

nope.. I can say for certain they will not.. it could be a rear wheel bearing and they will blame it on you front mount intercooler.. Ive seen it hella times.. the stealership is exactly that.. stealers...

i just took my car in 2 weeks ago to get the t-case fixed (which they didnt and i need to take it back in) but they didnt say anything about my car that has a fmic and a bunch of shit under the hood

He's reffering to recalls, in which the dealership pays for the repairs.

you got lucky.. I always see stealerships trying to use aftermarket mods (no matter how subtle and unrelated) as a scapegoat to not honor recalls... thats just what I have seen though...

By all means try it and good luck.. they make millions upon millions per year.. so what if they have to fix a lil problem? LOL... but dont be discouraged if they give you the big N-O..

I worked at a dealership and we always honored recall work, regardless. It is warranty work that will get turned away. Most recalls are safety issues, they can't deny you of those!

BS.. LOL.. the 2003 ford focus 2.3 has a recall on the 3rd gear synchro.. I took mine in to get fixed.. they said no, because I had an intake... My boy took his same car (but in white and mine was faster) for the same recall to a different dealership, and they said no beacuse he was lowered... even though its not exactly a safety issue, its still a valid recall nontheless... im just saying, try it, and see if you can.. there is no harm in trying...

What years did they do a recal on the balljoints, and tcase? My balljoints on my last talon sucked ass and my laser isn't must better. And what was the problem they had on the tcase, because I've never had any problems, nor have I heard of any.

Let me say it this way, since I work at a Mitsubishi dealer myself (parts department, good job to have when you own a dsm). Depending upon SOME dealers, they WILL do recalls whether or not your car is stock or modded. My dealer works on a lot of Evo's from DCEvoClub, and we still do any recall work and SOME warranty as long as the district manager doesn't have to look at it. Turbo timers are cool with almost all Mitsubishi service writers as it does help out. I have worked at two dealers, and they were cool with the turbo timers. But some will be complete sh*theads about things. Just check around the different Mitsubishi dealers in your area, as there are some service managers that are willing to help out a owner of a modded car. Good luck with your hunt of a good dealer!

If I took my DSM to any Mitsu dealership and they denied to service a factory recall. I would request that they put it in writing with there companies specific letterhead and have it signed by the service manager (no the service writer). If that doesn't persuade them to change their minds. Tell them your going to file a complaint to the better business bureau or to the dealerships corporate offices. You'll have your proof they won't service your DSM cause the service manager put it in writing that he wouldn't.

That's my .02 on the matter on that.

Parts and labor are already being paid for by the company. The dealership they shouldn't care what condition the car is in as long as the VIN hasn't had the corrected measure that was specified in the recall notice. They should honor that recall and correct it.

Just remember this... Magnuson Moss Warranty Act:
A vehicle shall not be denied warranty or recall without proof that the aftermarket part has caused the problem. I tell a lot of my parts customers that.
