Will a JDM Cyclone engine bolt into my 2g GS-T?

I heard that you cannot bolt a JDM Cyclone engine into a 2g. Is this true? doesnt sound like it makes much sense to me but i thought i would ask just to be safe. I ask this question because my friend just bought one of those engines for his 1g but recently ran into some financial trouble so i was going to buy the engine from him to throw into my 2g but wanted to make sure it would work.
