Will a 5x112 wheel fit on eclipse?

I understand the eclipse bolt pattern is 5x114.3 but i am looking at a set of rims that fit a 5x112 bolt pattern. Will 2.3 mm really make a difference? The seller claims they will fit. Thanks for the help.

i've heard of people wobbling out the holes with a drill bit but i wouldn't risk it...but if your really into the rims you could do that or buy adapters

That is REALLY not smart.

Sorry to bring this up from the dead but I actually tested this...

My boyfriend owns a S4 which the bolt pattern is 5x112 offset 38. The wheels fit with no modding, slamming, hammering, anything. They just slipped right on and I had no problems bolting them down. As for driving around like that I am not too sure it's safe (I cannot test it at the moment because my motor is waiting to go in).

Actually, I would say it depends on the lug sockets on the wheels. My OEM wheels have little clearance around the lugs. I tried put to wheels with a flat socket on to my car from a Passat and it did not fit. Later on down the road. I put after market wheels on it with angled sockets and it worked. It would seem there was a little more clearance around the lugs and as the lugs tightened, it centered the lugs into the socket. I think the Passats are 5 x 112 bolt pattern as well.

I guess that could play a factor. I use after market lugs the spline type that needs a special socket, but I am pretty sure with German cars they use two types of lugs one is conical. I forget the other off hand

So, you actually drove around for awhile with those and it was safe? These wheels I got off the S4 are nice and I like how car my car looks with them. I want to keep them badly but obviously don't want to sacrifice my safety for looks.

At lease use a proper set of hubcentric rings.

I'm all for experimentation but be careful. A millimeter or so deflection of the lug bolts may not seem like much but it could reduce their strength.

The guy is just trying to rip you off and take your money. Our lug pattern is 5x114.3. 114.3 compared to 112? Oi!
Ummm as I said a couple posts above 5x112 fit my 2g just fine. Another guy above your post also said he runs 5x115, so yah....I doubt the seller is trying to rip anyone off.

5x115 is different than 5x112. Allot closer. Im all for experimenting too, but remember you want the stud centered with the correct hub ring.
If not you could get a bad vibration or a dangerous car. If the studs are hitting the rim when put on and not in the center of the whole, it wont allow the rim to center properly.
All I can say is be carefull when at high speeds.

Well I am unable to test currently. I am motor-less, but I think it would be okay as long as there is no shake/vibration while driving.

Yea but if you were to be involved in a serious accident, that is definately one thing they could use against you. They really do look in to those sort of things as well. They make bolt patterns for a reason, just try to find the same style of rim in our size. So many companies make copies of every rim, someone else HAS to have it.
