:p j/p, Actually did you know that MSD discontinued the wires for 95-99 eclipses?? I ordered some through my local Kragen and it took them 2 weeks to tell me that they no longer make them for my car. I blame it on the dumb lady that works at kragen! Here is my story.

I decided that i wanted the wires like 3 weeks ago. My lazy ass finally decides to head to Kragen to order them a week later. So, i go in after work still a dressed up professional and stuff and inquired about them to the nice lady at the counter. I tell her this exactly! "Hello, I would like to order red MSD ignition wires for a 95-99 eclipse gsx." (I said eclipse even though i have a Talon because usually when i ask for something, i get that deer caught in headlights look.) She pulls out the catalog and said that they would have to order them. She then tells me this, "97-99 Mitsubishi Eclipse, 2.0L Turbo?" Me-"Yes maam"

So, she gets the total and tells me that i can pay for them now or when i pick them up. I figured that i would pay now so i dont have to wait in line when they are in. She then tells me that they are like $67.99. I was suprized at the low price, and just figured they were on sale. So i pay and leave with an ETA of 3-4 days.

The very next day I get a call from them telling me they are in. SWEET! So i stop by a couple hours later and tell the guy to get my order. Looks at my receipt and goes gets the box of MSD wires with my name on it puts them in a bag and hands them to me. So i leave and head straight for San Diego to go visit my girlfriend(4 hour drive). I figured i would do these the next day while she was at school.

So i get there after the long as drive that actually turned into 5 1/2 hours due to traffic. I get the bag out of the car and bring them into the house to share with my girlfriend what my plans include the next day. Pull out the box and look at the tag that says what car they are for. 95-99 neon/voyager!!!! WTF? when did i say that? Then i look at the little invoice on the side of the box and it said the total cost was like $32.99 or something like that. So i had to wait until i got back from San Diego to exchange them.

I go in the store and tell the guy what happend, he looks at the receipt/invoice/catalog/ and his computer. He then proceded to tell me that she ordered the wrong ones and that there is a $70.00 difference. I was pissed but i decided to order them anyway. He tells me it will take one week to get them. This guy obviously knew what he was talking about because he laughed at the original price i was charged.

Yesturday was the day they were supposed to be in and i never got a call. So, i call them right after work just to check. He looks them up and the order cant be processed because they are discontinued. So, that made my day because i was looking forward to the nice spark plug wires and now i dont have them.

sorry for the long post but when i told my g/f and family they just didnt understand why i was spittin hot fire over this, so i turn to the only ones who would understand! DSMtuners ;)

Haha...bastard. I all ready to copy like the latest 3 threads on those headlights.

How come the wires were for voyager/neon? I can 'partly' understand neon as they could have confused you for a N/T...but a van???? I seriously think they need to start hiring people that at least graduated from HS to work at those auto parts places. Every time I order parts from those places, they always mess it up and overcharge. They wanted like $85 for a non OEM fuel filter.

How come you paid $69 when the ones you got were only $32...did you get the difference back?

Just my 2 cents!

1) I would never buy from that place again and
2) I would never buy from a place where someone asks me if an Eclipse GSX is a 2.0L Turbo. Even my 1 year old son probably knows a GSX is a turbo :p
3) Why not just order it somewhere online??

The dumb ass probably typed in the wrong PN but that is no excuse none the less. That is exactly what the box said. I still have yet to figure out why it said $32 on the invoice but the $70 difference and the $69 I paid was my grand total for the right ones, but I dont know where the 32 bucks came from. :thumb: :talon:

I figured it would be cheaper/faster, and i was hoping to have them before i left to visit my girl. So I learned my lesson, and i will only be purchasing fluids from Kragen and nothing else.

Any suggestions as to which wires to get now that are top notch like MSD? I want them to be red also. Should I double check with MSD just to make sure Kragen is not dickin me around? :thumb: :talon:

The $32 is the store's cost. This is what I do for a living. I sell to stores like that and then they sell to the public. They accidentily left their copy of the invoice in the box. When I read that you only paid $68, I shit a brick. They should be selling them at around $85 (retail). That store pays roughly $70 to get them. There is not a lot of room to make money on MSD. Thats the way all of their product line is..... The only way to make a decent return on their product is to jack the retail price way up, like they are trying to do to you. I'd tell them to shove it up their ass. ;)

I have not heard anything about the MSD's being discontinued. I had one red set left on my shelf and I bought it yesterday for my car. I do have the blacks left though.... Wherever you shop, dont pay any more than $85 or your getting hosed. :thumb:

I just did check with MSD. And yes, Kragen is full of shit. They are not discontinued, but they are on a national backorder for 4-6 weeks. As are the 1G wires too.

Those bastards! I am just going to get a full refund and buy the wires at Prostreetonline. I guess i will just stick with online ordering from now on, and not get the shaft at Kragens.

An N/A 2nd gen eclipse would be the same ignition setup used on almost all 4 cylinder mopars around that time. I bought an msd coilpack for my plymouth breeze and the same part number is there for 2.0 sohc (Neon, Breeze, stratus with 5 speed), 2.0 dohc (neon, avenger, eclipse, sebring), and 2.4 dohc (base minivan, stratus, breeze, cirrus, sebring convertible). <-- might have missed a couple, not sure. she probably saw the turbo ones were discontinued and just figured an eclipse is an eclipse and it would work.
