Wierd Knocking Noise... Dont' know what's up

As the title says...

The car drives fine, everything seems normal besides a little vibration along the driverside of the car. The driverside headlight vibrates whiel the other side is fine, and there seems to be a little knocking sound by the belts. Any suggestions?

Have the wheels been balanced recently? If not, they may need to be rebalanced and/or rotated.

Have you ruled out lifter tick as the source of the knocking?

I thought it might've been the tires too, so I checked them out... I got a friend to remount and balance them for me @ his shop but it still continued. I don't think it's lifter knock because the noise seems to be comming from near the headlight. I was assuming something around the pullies or gears.

... It's a little wierd!

Like the vibration lessens after I drive it a little and then shift it back to park. Any ideas guys?

Pull off your driver's side wheel, remove the splash guards from the inner fender well and have a look for cracks or separation on your crank pulley. If you see evidence of cracking or separation, replace it immediately since these can make a mess if they let go.

While you're there, take a look at the CV boots on that axle since torn boots can cause vibration, especially on the inboard side.

On the crank pulley like the wiseman said you may also be able to tell if the crank pulley is bad by just looking down towards it and reving it up sum. That is how i Found out that mine was shot and it had a weird knocking sound that the dealer ship couldnt even find. But changing that fixed mine. Good Luck

About that crank pully... I'm just about to go inspect it now. If it IS cracked or separated, should I replace with stock OEM parts or is there something better to replace it with?

OEM Always.

Correct, OEM is the way to go since most aftermarket pulleys don't have vibration damping (I believe Fluidampr now has one for our motors, but OEM works like a charm).

It's wierd!!!

Like the knocking kinda went away... but when I took the wheelcover off and looked at it, the belts and pullies seemed fine. Maybe I'm just not noticing the sound as much anymore, but it just seems a little quieter.

Any other suggestions?
