wideband noobie

got the aem wideband. pulled the rear o2 and installed it there, unplugged the old rear o2 from its harness under the drivers seat, ran the power and ground (havnt spliced the blue wire into the rear o2 pinout yet) and the damned thing dances like its in a night club. any suggestions?

So you put her in the o2 housing? Correct me if i'm wrong but shouldn't the narrowband stay in its stock position and you weld in the wideband as close to the cat as possible for best readings?

it should never stay in one spot for too long. Its always bouncing around a little. Idle should be roughly 14.8 to 15.1 while cruising should be hovering around 14.7. WOT is whaveter u prefer it to be i guess. Stock is 9.5 i think.

Stock 9.5??? that would be boggey rich, there is no way stock a/f ratio at any throttle position should say 9.5. A good tuned car at wot I usually see the widebands at 11.5-13 depending on the ride but never 9.5! My plx wouldnt even say 9.5 is would just say RICH!

9.5:1 is stock a/f in high load ranges. If you tried running 11.5-13:1 A/F at wot on almost any high boost, pump gas 4g63 it would knock like crazy. It usually takes between 10.5-11.5:1 to make good power and keep the knock down. 11.5:1 is really pushing it though.

Especially if you live in cali, when we first started tunning my car with my new ssetup anything above a 10.5 afr would knock like crazy causing aem to pull timming. You should be somewhere in the high tens for a pump gas dsm.

at WOT it reads 10 and when cruising it bounces all over the place. sometimes it pings past 17 when cruising

im new to widebands and dsmlink so how do i tune afr's from by reading the gauge? go off the wot reading? and how do i tune it through dsmlink say to get it up to 11.

did you dial your injectors in correctly? What brand/size? and what are your global and deadtime settings?
