i got my wideband today. lc-1 and a xd-1 display. i would like to just substitute my wideband sensor for the stock one. my instructions say this can be done using the analog output wire. they say i use one of the wires coming from the stock o2 sensor and the #1 analog output. has anyone done this? what color wire do they use from the stock o2 sensor. could i also just use the wire from the ecu that i have connected to my narrowband af gauge?

I'm pretty sure this is the same one. I looked it up last winter and zip-tied my wbO2 dummy signal lead to the right one, but I don't remember off the top of my head. I'm 99% sure it's the same one. That's the signal going to the ECU from the O2 sensor. If you run your fakie to that, it should be fine, provided the wbO2 is sending a dummy signal out that way.

so i allready have that line spliced for my narrowband. should i just cut the wire before my splice and use the wire all i spliced for my narrowband hooked up to my output from my wideband? or if i unhook my stock o2 i could just use the wire spliced into the ecu and not cut the factory o2 wire.

confused yet? i am.

Not sure what you mean by the second part of this post, man. I can tell you that, when I finish my wb install, I will be removing the stock O2 sensor, installing the wb in its place, cutting the lead to the ECU from the stocker, and running my nb simulator to the ECU.

The O2 only has three leads - 12VDC, GND, and signal. The ECU only needs to see the signal. (I'm going off memory, here. I'm pretty sure the 12V is used to heat the sensor, but I could be wrong.)

When you install the wb, you won't have the stock harness connected to anything. The wb will have its own connector from it's controller/display box. It will get it's power from the controller (at least this is the way the Zt-2 I have is set up). Therefore, you only need to send a signal to the ECU so it knows how to adjust fuel based on the reading from the O2.

Does this help some?

you da man. that's what i wanted to know. i think the wire in the ecu is white with black stripe. i will do the install and let you know how it turns out. should get it all done today.

How can I be da man when you da man? :thumb:

Let me know. Let us all know. I'm thinking it's the WH/BK wire at the ECU myself. Always a good idea to double check when cutting wires that go to the ECU.

got it done. i used the white/black wire for my analog out and it works good. my car idles at like 14.5 or so. i steeped on it once and i watched it lean out to about 12.5. i only have a fmu and stock injectors installed right now and i am waiting on my safc, so i can't tune nothing yet. what should my afr be like at idle and at wot on 8psi?

Good to hear you got it installed. I can't tell you what you should see at idle and WOT on boost, because I don't have mine installed, nor do I have a turbo. Obviously, you want it to be a hair richer than stoich to be on the safe side. I think there is something on the FAQ about what AFR you want when under boost. Keep us posted.

i went for a nice drive tonight and my gauge worked fine. its funny when you down shift or let of the gas the gauge goes real lean for a sec and then gets right back to 14.5 or so. i wonder if this is normal? i haven't got to really run the car hard for a long time yet but when i do i will report it. i cant wait for my safc2 and fuel pressure gauge to come in so i can install my sfmu and have a little more control over my shiznit.

i'm now the stupidest man on this form. 12.5 is rich not lean. sorry for my ignorance.

does anyone know if i can use a lma-3 box in conjunction with my lc-1. i know it works with the lm-1. i would like to start logging stuff so i can tune easier.
for those that care next month innovate is releasing a new firmwae so you don't have to have the lm-1 to use the lma-3 and log.

I'd say I care, but I'd be lying. I'm running Zeitronix WB. ;)

i was going to buy that one i think i should have. i have to spend an extra $285 just to be able to datalog with it. (if they actually come out with the software upgrade) oh well when i get it all set up it will be pimp.

Then again, for about the same price, you could get started installing a Megasquirt and datalog with that. More powerful tool if you ask me. Don't know why I still haven't completed that install. Oh yeah! Car's been dead for most of the last two months. LOL.

think i should just sell my safc and do that then?
I would, but that's just me. If I did do that, I'd be sure to get the MS ready to go in before doing so. :thumb:

i know this is old i have a aem wideband and idk where to hook the white wire in the ecu, Im doing the same thing replacing front o2 sensor with wideband but the only thing i dont know how to do is where to put the wideband white wire on the ecu to make it work
