Ouch. I wont be of much help really but have you checked to make sure your power steering fluid didnt leak onto the alternator? I know that can lead to frying the ecu. Mice eat the wires? Id be checking the wiring leading to and from the ecu to see if any of that got hot as well.

x89stang05 - well the car sat for a bout 2 months and i go to start it, started cranking over but wouldnt start, then the battery started to die and then i hooked up some jumpers to another running car.

BUCK - Get a new Alternator & repair any Power Steering Fluid leaks on your P/S Pump FIRST - Those leaks usually "take out" the Voltage Regulator inside the ALT - The V/R can fail HIGH - High Voltage will kill your NEW ECU - been there done that, bought TWO ECU's...

x89stang05 - i hooked up some jumpers to another running car.

BUCK - FYI for your soon to be purchased NEW ECU FYI - ALL ECU's DON'T LIKE Jumper Cables~!

x89stang05 -and it sill woulnt start so then i smelt something eclectrical burning, look over and the ecu is smoking, what would cause this to happen

BUCK - IT'S OLD - LIKE ME.

x89stang05 -and is it why my car wouldnt start in the first place???

BUCK - YES.

x89stang05 -is it cause the computer is just old??

BUCK - & THE P.O.S. CAPS THEY USED WEREN'T THAT GOOD WHEN THEY WERE NEW....

and i have a apexi safc thats been in the car for more that 2 years with no problems.i just dont want to spend the money and buy another ecu and then end up have it do the same thing.

BUCK - HAD MY $400 REBUILT ECU FOR 4 YEARS, NO PROBS... love, Uncle Buck

Yep, that ECU is toast.

No doubt the C108 caps was bad and shorted out when you turned the power on again but that doesn't explaain cooking the power resistor in the sensor power circuit. That looks like you have some bad wiring/short in the engine bay or you reversed the jumper cables.
