so i decided to do my first timing belt on a dsm couple days ago and i made a manual tensioner per a faq i read which worked great the only problem is i apparently overtightened the timing belt. in a matter of minutes my oil pump bearing ground itself down and all my oil gushed out of the engine in about 15 seconds. i had to tear everything down replace not only the oil pump drive gear but also the front case because the bearing for the oil pump drive gear is an integral part of the front case. had to rip off transfer case, oil pan, and front case, so dont overtighten your timing belt

LOL yea i HOPE i left some slack in the belt is there a good way to measure the exact tension that needs to be on it??

you are actually very lucky man,by over tigtening any belt that affects the crank you can mess up the crank very badly i have seen it in my shop a few times.but that does suck anyway.
