well i want to know what have to say guys runing the evo3 gt from turbochargers.com . i was reading a lot of posts on that turbo but can't make a decision, because all those threads are from guys that are not runing one.

So with a while in the market the one's that have run that turbo have any complaint or something to say? please share your impressions. it's crap like some guys say's. it worth every penny. ? any quality or durability issues ?

It's a great manifold. I've had mine on for about 2 weeks now and no complaints at all. I went from a tubular header to the EVO III and the spool up isn't as fast but I gained power in my top end.
I think he was talking about the turbo.

My GT blew after about 6 months and 3,000 miles. The housing cracked in two spots (all the way through), and it had in/out shaft play, and a lot of side to side. It was in the begining stage of grinding... I could even see the marks when I pulled the turbo apart.

I would suggest that you do not buy this turbo. If you want an Evo III, get a real MHI one.

I have one, and it's a great turbo. 6,000 Miles and still running strong. Lag isn't as good as a 14b, full boost by 2900RPM, but man does it pull past 5,000 RPM. The only downside to the TC.com GT is the gaskets it comes with. Other than that, it's a great buy.

Matt.

nevermind dudes i guess i will be runing a holset HX30 it looks like is a very choice, with a bullet proof plus LOL.

Sorry about those things about the evo gt :( it looks that i was so nice to be true

I dont understand you people that say your GT blew up after 1000 miles or 3000 miles it has a 1 year warrenty on it if it broke send it back and get a new one. SO WHAT if i died for all you know your setup could be the reason it died.

Untill you've had 3 GT's in a row and they have all died due to being made shitty i'm not goin to believe anything

Maybe its the ebay knock off GT, making the real evo GT get a bad rap.A buddy of mine bought the ssautocrome 16g and it blew in 1k.

If you've ever had to deal with tchargers.com you'd know why that's not the case. They simply find every way around warrantying your turbo (sorry mods, but that's been the case with everyong in houston that's been to them). Trust me, you dont know what you're talking about here.

you have to understand too in the performance industry its hard to warranty items. because who knows, it could be the way you are installing the turbo, or maybe there's a loose bolt that went through your exhaust mani or into your intake. or if you don't change your oil and there's contamination in there, it could cook your turbo. so i don't blame tchargers.com in a lot of warranty denials in that case..........

There is no declining to warrenty a evo316g gt.
Its a no questions asked warrenty.

well ya, but if you had oil contamination, or you had something go thru one of the housings, i'd decline your warranty too....

Then tell me why they are giving me crap? They told me that if I sent the turbo back to them, they MIGHT honor it.
I bet that if I sent it, I wouldn't hear back from them again.

have they turned you down yet?

...............no, so dont speculate.

what they said wasnt the best but you still gotta understandd where i'm coming from.

what was your setup on that 16g, how much boost?

My mods are in my profile, I was running 17psi daily on 93 octane.
No, they have not "turned me down", but they sound very unscruplous. I would bet anything that if I send them the turbo, I will not see the turbo again, nor will I see any money. What will happen is they will claim that this was my fault, and not a manufacturer defect. After that, they will reject my warrenty, and keep my turbo. We'll see I guess, maybe I'll take my chances and send it to them. But on the phone, they didn't sound like they were willing to work with me.

I think it of this topic this way. Mitsubishi isn't going to put the evo 3 turbo on their car's if they know their going to fail in >20000milies. I don't see how people can compare the evo 3 to the evo gt in quality. I've never ran the evo gt, but i'm running the evo 3 MHI and i can't complain.
