Just like the title says I'm lookin for some fellow tuners to help me out with the evoscan, ecuflash, ceddy mods route. I got some questions and I'm not even sure if I am logging properly. Its hard to find support.

Alright, I can get evoscan to log with my car. The only issue is I'm not sure I have it setup correctly.
I am using an openport 2.0 cable and connector. Here's my questions.

1. i have the open port 2.0 cable marked off in the cable selection area. Just below it though you can select OBDII 96+ / Mitsubishi MUTIII etc. I have the mitsu mutIII checked cause it wont work if i check off the dsm box instead. ( circled pink on attached pic)

2.baudrate and timeout ms is fine the way it is with the values entered I take it? ( circled blue)

3. bottom right in evoscan you have a option to select MUTII EFI or CAN MUTIII EFI or a lot of other ones. It seems to still log with any of the efi's which should i be using? currently on MUTII EFI mitsu 90-99 i.e. evo 4,5,6 ( circled in red)

Sounds like you have everything set up correctly. The options you have highlighted in the lower right corner (red) are only for if you are trying to pull EFI diagnostics codes from the ECU ( when the CEL is on). I am running the same setup as you, only a little older version of EVOscan (I am using 2.7) all my other settings are the same. I have had an issue with my laptop causing EVOscan to log in and out... I found there is only one USB port on my laptop that EVOscan likes. Try a different USB port and see if that helps. If not maybe try stepping back a version or two of EVOscan

Okay that's good to know I have it correctly. I don't have a issue getting it to log I just didn't know if I had it set up properly. So my issue now is what exactly should I be marking off to log? I have marked off a bunch of stuff just because i'm not sure which is better. There is more than one coolant temp to log and so on. I got a issue with some stuttering under boost with 5 counts of knock in low rpms and I haven't touched my stock tune yet. I'm having a tough time figuring out what is going on. I'm thinking maybe I'm running too lean but when I look at my injectors on evoscan its just a bunch of numbers LOL.

Do you have a wide band sensor set up? If you are trying to tune without one then you will have a tough time. As for what to log I log RPM, TPS, Boost (or MDP untill you swap to a stock style boost sensor or convert to GM MAP), load, airflow hz, injector pulse width and duty cycle, AFR map, and wideband. I am making adjustments to the air flow settings most of these you don't need for what I am doing. Really all I need is AFR map, wideband Air flow hz but I like keeping things simple and I just leave that bigger list always checked.

I do have a aem wideband. Its in the car and working. I just haven't completely figure out how to hook it up so I can log with it, basically because I left my front nd rear O2 sensors alone and I added a bung closer to the oil pan area on my down pipe and placed it about 36" away from the exhaust manifold if I remember correctly. To keep it short, I just don't have the logging cable wired up since I haven't figured out if there is a way to hook it up with keeping both front and rear O2 sensors.

I'm not trying to tune yet. I'm just logging so I can get familiar with it and understand the lay out better before I tune. I am currently at the moment getting breakup during boost which is hitting around 14-15psi on my stock fuel pump and injectors. I did some logs and it shows I'm getting 5 counts of knock and so on in a couple areas. But when I look a the injectors I cant figure out if I'm maxing them out or what? I haven't turned up the boost at all yet either, I'm still using the stock boost sensor that the car was assembled with. I have however tried re-gapping my plugs, purchased some new ngk 6es plugs and gapped to .27-.28, did my boost leak test, and I'm still getting the issue.

You have a wide band hooked up and working correctly, what is it reading when you are getting the "breakup"? Also to see if you are getting close to maxing out your injectors all you need to do is log injector pulse width and injector duty cycle. I don't think the duty cycle % is 100% accurate because I have seen mine hit 105% (yea I really need bigger injectors) but it will give you a general idea if you are close. You should ideally be under 80%. And yes, feel free to post a log.

There are really no free open inputs on the H8 ECU that come in the 98/99 Eclipses. The best/only way I know of for logging any extra sensor directly through the ECU is using the rear O2 signal input. But you have an AEM which I thought should be capable of being logged directly through the OP2.0. I don't have any of the supported wideband systems to know the process for setting up direct logging but I believe you just wire a mini headphone plug to the serial output wire from the gauge and plug it into the OP2.0 box. Then just check the box in EVOScan.

Log these values, your AFR is that low because thats the AFR in the load cell you are using!

To get the wideband feed back you have to hook up the 5v signal on the wideband to pin 76 "rear o2 sensor" on the ecu. Or use a serial to USB cable which I say good luck, It's hit or miss getting one that works.

Change your AFR's in your Fuel map to 11.0 instead of anything below 10 and you should pick up some power!
