I'm looking to get a carbon hood soon, and I'd like to get one that's vented. I recently ducted my radiator and noticed huge reductions in cruise coolant temps. And I'm assuming a vented hood will help even more with overall engine bay temp.

However, I'm not big on the aggressively vented hoods with large scoops. I want one that will function and be subtle as possible.

I've found a few that may fit the bill, but I'm not sure if they're newer or just not popular because I'm having a hard time finding pics of them actually on cars. I'm wondering if any of you have input on these hoods or pics of them on your cars. If you know of any others that aren't too aggressive looking by all means post them up.

The hoods I'm currently looking at;

What about an oem style with a vent like this?

Is that yours? Is it a modified factory hood, or fiberglass/CF? It looks good but I'd prefer to get something "off the shelf" as I'm not much of a body guy. I also want carbon or fiberglass for the weight savings. The front of my car is much heavier than the rear these days.

You can then purchase the vent and be way more functional with the same lightweight adavantage and maybe a cheaper price.

@ZACH 99 GST thanks for the link to the carbontrix vent. It looks like a pretty good solution, I will keep it in mind.

@Archer Fabrications are you talking about the Carbonetics AB hood? It looks pretty cool, but I'm worried I might end up waiting a year or more to get it... I've heard good things about VIS's quality. I really like the look of their JS hood, if I could only find a pic of it actually on a car!

Isn't that a common theme with them? Not bashing but legitimately curious if they have better business practices yet?
There's been some talk about this over on the link forums lately. I have never dealt with them personally but have heard plenty of horror stories.
Supposedly things have gotten better, from what a few people say over there. Lots of guys there have his stuff and the general consensus in that thread is they make quality stuff, there's just a chance of it taking forever. http://www.ecmtuning.com/forums/showthread.php?t=88435

Yes, those are all the things Sergio told me.

I've also been trying to place an order for 4 weeks, with one response from them in that time. I'm not ordering anything from anyone who you have to chase around to even order the part in the first place.
If I can't get a response to send them money, what do you thinks gonna happen when your shit hasn't shown up?

Heres what my 2g looked like with the Seibon VS2 hood. Nothing but good things to say about it quality and fit.
