I have seen the 4g37s in the 300k-400k before going. I have one at 160k and my GSX is and 105k

The motor in my 91 has 199,500 miles on it. Only ever opened up to put cams in it. Still runs strong like bull!

Also I run 21psi daily (daily driver), put down 310awhp, and run a 12.5@111.

Pretty decent for a 200k mile four cylinder

the friend which blew his at 210k, was awd, an an auto, the trans shifted as smooth as butter before the engine blew.

180K miles. Original everything including washer fluid. Head never removed. Clutch is original, and the AC still blows cold! Just oil changes, timing belts, and brakes for the last 12 years.

137k, motor never opened up farther than taking off the valve cover to replace the gasket, and timing belt changes. I expect another 50k out of her at least.

IM sorry to dig up a old post but instead of starting another one I thought meh just see what people say 3 years later. So My car has 190k miles. I was told it had a motor swap and after hearing what every ones saying Im positive it does. It shifts like butter and has just as much power as every other gsx and tsi awd. So tell me guys how many miles your cars have.

I'm on my 3rd 1g now and all had/have original motors. My 1st tsi went into the 170K's after beating on it everyday for 7 yrs from 68,000 mi. My recent N/T 1g went to 178,000until I just decided on a part-out and could have kept running it indefinitely because engine was smooth as silk and last compression chk showed great #'s. The tsi I just bought has 162,000 with excellant compression #'s and expect it to go to 200,000but you never know. Have read of many dsm'ers with 200,000+ mi motors so these are well built long lasting motors if you don't beat on them day and night and even if you do they'll hold up for a long time

Original miles 280k still runs clean and smooth. opened her up for port polish cleaned the whole block still runs perfect

I got 172K still running like a top, just did another timing belt kit and switched to a 50 trim at 165K.

just picked up a running 94 dohc 2.4 with 298,871 miles on it. it is getting built for my evolution III

140k myself. Just did a t-belt and hg. Compression strong across the board.


As of Feb 1st, I've been putting 70 miles a day on it.

nice to hear, at least that 14b lasted 200k! wish i had numbers for you guys! but i just cant seem to hold on to a dsm long enough before i sell it and find another deal!
