Just as the title asks. Who and or what is BBP on ebay?? I have searched the forums and have found very little, but what I have found where some people saying that they are decent product. Parts such as header and exhaust systems. Can anybody tell me more on BBP?? Because there is a lot of BBP items on ebay at the moment. Right now there is a seller who goes by the name racing_guys that has a BBP header and catback exhaust combo for sale for $218.95 after S&H. They have 52,224 positive feedback at 98.8% and over 57,967 sold items so the record seems pretty decent. And they seem to take care of all of their issues and get comments about good communication. Anyways was just wanting to know if BBP headers and catback exhausts where any good? If so I'm going to buy this combo they are offering. Hell it is only $218.95 I might just buy it anyways but feedback would be great thanks ahead of time guys!

Here is the URL to the sale:

eBay Motors: 95-99 ECLIPSE RS GS BBP CATBACK EXHAUST HEADER 96 97 (item 360017729758 end time Jan-31-08 18:47:38 PST)

Go ahead and buy it and let us know from first hand experience how it works out (too bad it's n/t stuff! Only turbo item is the high flow cat), I know a couple of guys who get a bunch of stuff off ebay and have had good success. Then I also know the guys that get stuff off ebay and have crappy luck with cracking manifolds. If they have such a good record then hey go for it, seems legit enough, for only $218 give it a try.

It does sound to good to be true, I am the first person to knock no name ebay stuff. My last two cars I built up I would NEVER touch ebay aftermarket. But I have read a lot of posts on here with people saying to not knock cheap ebay stuff that it does work and just as good if not better than name brand. While that is hard for me to believe at the same time I can't ignore all the people that say the stuff is legit. I guess it is a 50/50 hit and miss maybe I will order the stuff because it does look pretty, but you can never tell with pictures, or if that really is the actual photo of the items up for auction. Anybody out there have in input on BBP parts?

I can't personally vouche for BBP, but I do know that on my last car I had an AEM cold air intake and my new AC AutoTechnic cold air intake [an ebay special] seems to work just as good if not better. I've had nothing but smiles since I got it, and zero problems. If it seems to be of good quality I'd say purchase.

There is a big difference between air intakes and headers though in quality. An air intake system is very easy to fabricate and doesn't see the same types of stresses as an exhaust part. I'd be the first in line to purchase an ebay quality air intake but I'd hesitate at purchasing ebay quality exhaust parts. I don't trust the welds nor do I trust the materials used. The way I see it, look for a good deal on a known good quality product when you know it will require higher tolerances. I've had to re-buy products too often on previous cars and ended spending more money than if I had just saved up and spent the extra in the first place.

I have the BBP headers it's a good quality unit. I haven't run it yet as it's part of my whole setup overhaul but I'm not a big fan of the one you posted because of the style hook up it has between the dp and the exhaust manifold or the halfs of the header however you want to look at it. Other than that it looks pretty good. I got eBay Motors: 95-99 ECLIPSE/ TALON STAINLESS BBP HEADER RS/GS 2.0L NT (item 150209905545 end time Jan-29-08 18:18:26 PST) that kit and eBay Motors: 95-99 MITSUBISHI ECLIPSE GST TURBO CATBACK EXHAUST 97 (item 260206632093 end time Jan-29-08 14:38:04 PST)
that for a catback.

Im sorry Bane3d, I do completely agree with you on that. Slippi seems to think its not the best. Personally I am not going to purchase my exhaust off of ebay. I'd go the more expensive route and get a Greddy or other name brand that is proven to work. You know what they say, more bang for the buck.

WHich cars and which companies? That's my biggest problem with people and their so called "ebay experience". Two diffrent cars, two diffrent companies and two diffrent parts on ebay is like comparing obx lsd for a eclipse with a intake manifold from another company for a supra:confused:. Obviously not comparable. I don't usualy talk about ebay stuff in a bad light as 99.9% of my experience has been good but on the same hand if I haven't used something or atleast that exact brand for the same car then I don't hype it up either just cause my other ebay experience has been good.

I don't agree with what? The company he posted the link to is the same comapny that makes mine except that kit has a cup and bolt setup instead of a flange and bolt design. That's all I was pointing out with my first post. The welds onthe BBP are VERY good I was actually drawn to the kit specifically for the welds and when it came in the mail they looked the same as they did online.

I was just saying that if you had some experience with that brand, then to follow your advice and get the one that you chose.
Not bashing ebay products or your opinion at all. (=

Hmm.... Thanks for all this info guys I'm learning a lot. I'm still pretty skeptical about ebay exhaust parts myself. I have used ebay intake systems on many other cars and loved them. I don't know what I'm going to do with my exhaust parts yet as in where to get them. I'm kind of leaning towards ebay just as an experiment since the parts are pretty cheap. Thanks for all the replies.

I just bought on online and i am interested to see how it goes. I only have a greddy cat back and a cheap intake but hopefully it will make a little more power on the top end and give it a better sound.

I just installed the bbp cat back last week. I bought it off racing guys too and it got to me in a week. The fit was really well and all the hangers lined up with factory perfectly. the only thing is that I cant get the silencer out. if anyone has any tips it would be appreciated.

 It's held in by like two screws on the side or the muffler

you gota pull it REALLY hard!

tip: when you remove the screws see if you can push it from the inside with a screwdriver I did that bit by bit and then pulled what was coming out with pliers xD

I have about 3k miles on their header. So far, so good. Fit well with my greddy sp exhaust and stock cat. No cracks, fitment issues, or gasket problems so far. Oh, and this is on my 97 rs.

Let us know how that goes.

now i have had this header on for over a year it works well. no cracks and good top end power. the two screws that hold the downpipe to the exhaust suck and 1 fell off. just replaced it and it works great :)
