i drive around for a lil, let the car idle( turbo timer) i hear a loud whistle coming from under the hood. i opended it and it appears to be coming from the air filter. i have the k&n set up. what gives? never happen before til now. i just reupped my boost to 15psi and thats when i think it started. wont do it on start up though. what gives ? thanks in advance for ur suggestions.:dsm:

i believe the greddys are adjustable. there is a screw on the top of it that goes in to make it harder to open(the direction you would want to go in) and comes out to make it open more easily. im not sure because i dont have one, but ive seen people aroujnd here adjusting it via that screw.

but if you have to get a new bov i highly recommend the HKS SSQV. it sounds phoenominal and i run it vented with no idle issues whatsoever. and even if you do have problems venting it you can pick up an adapter piece for the whopping price of $15:thumb:

oh yeah, and if you have a 30-0-30 boost gauge(or any that read vacuum as well as boost) you could have diagnosed this problem alot easier ;). the vacuum should normally be at 18-20 on a warm engine.

i got a boost gauge. it reads vac 20. i dont understand. it holds boost at wot. i have it set hard. but at idle i hear a loud squeel. i hit the gas alil and then after it blows off, its followed up by a squeel for a good 5 seconds. im goin to take it to the guy i bought it from. he installed it maybe he knows something i dont. if its messed up im gonna take that xmas cash and get the hks and the dejon uicp.

well boys let me update the staus. on my way to work today it was fine. now on my way back home every shift had a flutter. no pshhhhht. just a flutter. im really F*CKIN HEATED NOW. wtf do i do ? im running 13lbs now down from 15. and yes the bastard still leaks...... i went out to my car and let it idle. the usual squeeeel. what a joy it brings to my life. not really. anyway i decide to fart around a lil. i looked at my tach. holdin strong at 1.5. i take the hose off that feeds into the intake. yes everyone i was venting to the atmosphere. and this it what boggles me. my rpms did not drop. infact they went up to almost 2 ?? why did it do that ? with the tube off i eliminated a prob with the intake, which i was already sure had no effect. with the hose disconnected that leak at idle was so freekin loud. of course i would hit the throttle cord and that pssssht was so sweet..... but why the flutter when i was driving and why the leak ? i have it set at hard on the top, but what else do i have to turn ? thats what i dont see. hard soft is easy to see. but what else do i tighten or loosen down ? i see 2 allen bolts for the flange and thats it? what am i missing ? thanx

there should be an adjustable screw on the top of the BOV. i'm assuming you have it cranked as far as it goes one direction. try cranking it all the way the other direction and see what happens. maybe you mistakingly adjusted it to be as loose as it will go? that's about all i can think of...

well today was judgement dayand it really f*ckin sux. i tightened my greddy all the way(yes i know thats bad, but hear me out) and still it leaked, which can only mean their is a hole in the diaphram. oh joy. i loosened it up to run pretty soft. anything less then about 4 it would flutter. which i think is normal. then i decided to see what it held at wot. 12 lbs no more no less , sounded fine. but now the problem is it was leaking at idle even louder. so that means it was already set right and their probably is a whole in the diaphram. god damn it. money that i was goin to spend to mod are now wasted on something i already had upgraded. thats just f*ckin great. well i determined my car can run vented. i guess i am gonna go with the hks ss. i loved the sound of my greddy. it sounded dope but look out old people on the sidewalk..... u better be wearin ur depends cause u will $hit ur self when i blast that hks. haha...

haha u guys are funny..... a battle over who scares more people. thats great. i dunno biddy scareing a middleschool kid off their bike is pretty hardcore! ha can u top it ? the greddy didnt scare no one just got looks. i havent found any good sound clips of the xs rfl. i heard it on the gt4 bov's site but it wasnt high quality. the one of the supra on there it sounds so dope. it u can find me a clip biddy maybe id choose the xs.

if the hks isnt louder than theyre damn equal. i hears the rfl on a wrx and it didnt seem all that loud at 14psi. plus it sounds like a sneeze:D ;)

ha ok im pretty set on the hks. now if i get the dejon uicp with the hks flange, i can just get a universal hks right ? because the flange is welded to the pipe already. sounds like a dumb question but i want to be 100 perecent sure i dont waste money. im only 18 on a tight budget. thanks,
chris

yeah, if your gonna go with the flange, just get the universal. You won't need the install kit. Just make sure it comes with a gasket.

turboxs is 169 from turboxs.com and you can get a dejon in pipe with a flange for that too... there's a link to the sound here http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=8346 trust me, it is loud. ;) mine holds 25+ psi without leaking... as for scaring kids off bikes i can't say i have, but i never drive on city streets. it's all highway for me, though i get a LOT of people looking over at me like "what the **** was that?" you can hear it inside other cars louder than my horn...

Hey guys, hmmm Maybe you can tighten the BOV by applying 2 quarters inside of the BOV Spring:shhh: it may work you know. My freind had the similar problem and he did the same on his Greaddy BOV and it aliviated it a little it may work for you best, I would try it before getting a new one and if it doesnt work my apologiez:D , later guys
