To get the starter going and cranks over the flywheel. is it this

thos both need to be connected. That one you are holding in your hand needs to connect to the main harness.
 
Yea, but which is the wire that tells the solenoid to turn the starter over from the ignition?

The Thickest wire is positive + Wire,that goes from the battery. to the back of the starter. And this is the ignition wire...
The thiner then the Positive wire is Ground -,This wire bolts on on the transmission.
The Thinest wire is the one that goes from the ECU. without this wire connected,the starter won't turn. Plus this thinest wire working with the clutch too.If the clutch is not Engaged,the starter won't spin too.
 
yes the first picture is the wire that comes off the main harness from the starter relay to send the battery voltage to the solenoid but you still need the other connector to complete the circuit
