Ok so I'm getting ready to install my maf translator. I have the newer 2.01 version and I had a mas from a 97 lumina. So I get everything hooked up and start the car. It runs like ass, sounds like it has a stutter box,not revving over 3k rpm. I check w/ the palm and come up with air meter. So I'm like crap, I guess I need another mass. So I go to autozone and pick up one for a 96 caprice v8 LT1. So I get it home and reinstall everything again. Same problem as before. I'm pretty sure the new mas is good,so I call ramchargers. The guy tells me I HAVE to have one from a LT1 caprice or impala SS. So I check autozone online and see that the 97 camaro LT1,caprice LT1,and impala SS all have the same part #, WTF? So my question is does anyone run a non LT1 mass on their dsm and not have any problems? I know what the guy said but I've also heard about people getting brand new translators and them not work right out of the box.

You may also want to check and make sure everything is connected correctly and tightly. If the MAFT is not hoooked up right it will throw a MAf code also.

Yeah I've checked everything twice since I've had to install two mass airs. I had the auz and base switches set on 2 for 750 injectors.
