Which data logger to use?

Alright, I'd love some advice on data loggers. I must admit that the one I want, probably only exists in my dream world, but please let me know what you guys think.

I have an OBD II code reader, that does live data, but it doesn't save frames in intervals that are useful to me. So it's ok for working on cars, but not really for tuning.

I have a laptop that I can use.

My dream setup is something that would work on 1g and 2g cars, as well as a 3000gt vr4. I buy and sell cars frequently. I'd really like to get a setup of an AFC, wideband, and logger than I can move from car to car. (Though I know the wideband would leave a hole, but I can plug it...)

Right now I am just focusing on data loggers. What I imagine is something that I can run on my laptop, and I can graph out my data. I'd love something that would incorporate the wideband into it, but if it was done on a separate program, that wouldn't hurt much.

Also, the idea of running MMCD for 1g DSMs and early 3/s cars and then something different for OBD II cars works fine for me. I'd need need two cables to connect to the laptop, and a palm emulator for the MMCD.

Right now I am trying to find the best deal for OBD II. Something that is complete, but not too expensive. I've look found tons of things, but I don't know what is good and what is garbage. Some $300 look good and some $40 look similar.

And advice would be great, if it was as simple as getting two cables and some free programs I'd be a happy camper. And again, if I had to do my wideband separately, that'd be ok.

Let me know what you guys think.

And does anyone have thoughts of these- (found on ebay)

Wireless OBD II

Another OBD II scanner

I guess my biggest thing is that I want something that will graph live data. My current OBD II reader does show live data, but it isn't fast enough, I need something that will graph and have multiple frames per second. It doesn't do much good if I get 1 frame per second.

OBDII loggers suck on 2G's. Useless 3-4 samples per second, no knock logging, as well as many other things not loggable.

Evoscan is cheap, and you can get a cable cheap too. Evoscan $25, Cable $14. $39! I've never seen even just an OBDII cable alone as cheap as that. Why not get it?

logger is what im looking for too..do you know where i can get an evoscan and a cable ?
is evoscan a program scantool you can use on your laptop for logging and just use a cable on a 2g dsm?

Evoscan sells cables on their webpage, but they're kinda spendy. What exactly would you need for a 2g? Looks like theirs includes an ODBII connector and a MUTII cable... (I think MUTII is the correct term...)

Yeah, they're kind of pricey, but i believe with 95-96 dsm's you have the ability to re-flash with the 12 pin cable too (which isn't that bad of a deal, if you think about it) or you can just buy the generic OBD2 cable for 50 bucks.

Bringing back my old post... I went with a package deal on ebay for MMCD, a nice palm and cable with some other games and junk...

Now I have all that, but I want to log on a 2g now. So... Any suggestions? I'd like to go cheap. I'm not keeping this car, it will be more for fun and playing around.

Where is this $14 Evoscan cable you speak of? It seems like every site I look at sells their cables for over $100. I'd do Evoscan if I could get set up for under $50...

Edit- Where is the cheapest Tactrix cable? Is that what I want to get???

2nd Edit- Would I need/want a 2.0 OP cable? 1.3? Does it even matter for my car? That'd only be needed if I had an EVO computer? Or a 95? Sorry for all the questions... I'm rusty on this subject...

Evoscan no doubt
