Alright, I'd love some advice on data loggers. I must admit that the one I want, probably only exists in my dream world, but please let me know what you guys think.
I have an OBD II code reader, that does live data, but it doesn't save frames in intervals that are useful to me. So it's ok for working on cars, but not really for tuning.
I have a laptop that I can use.
My dream setup is something that would work on 1g and 2g cars, as well as a 3000gt vr4. I buy and sell cars frequently. I'd really like to get a setup of an AFC, wideband, and logger than I can move from car to car. (Though I know the wideband would leave a hole, but I can plug it...)
Right now I am just focusing on data loggers. What I imagine is something that I can run on my laptop, and I can graph out my data. I'd love something that would incorporate the wideband into it, but if it was done on a separate program, that wouldn't hurt much.
Also, the idea of running MMCD for 1g DSMs and early 3/s cars and then something different for OBD II cars works fine for me. I'd need need two cables to connect to the laptop, and a palm emulator for the MMCD.
Right now I am trying to find the best deal for OBD II. Something that is complete, but not too expensive. I've look found tons of things, but I don't know what is good and what is garbage. Some $300 look good and some $40 look similar.
And advice would be great, if it was as simple as getting two cables and some free programs I'd be a happy camper. And again, if I had to do my wideband separately, that'd be ok.
