I'm going to do brake pads on my TSI and was wondering what you guys think about ceramic vs. regular organic pads. I went to autozone and their "gold" edition brake pads are $30, but for $40 I can get their ceramic pads (supposedly produce less brake dust). Any experiance/opinions on using autozone brake pads in the first place, and secondly w/ using ceramic brake pads? thanks for the input.

Is it a 2G? What year? Any 2G built from 1/94 to 10/94 most likely will have vented rear rotors. I haven't found any after market pads for these as of yet and have had to buy rear pads from the dealer. Axxis and Hawk brands are my choices for the fronts. I have had good results with NAPA on other types of cars as well. There aren't any Autozones near where I live though.

I am using autozone ceramics, 90 bucks for fronts and backs with 2 year warranty, but I am unsure of how they work right now because I have warped rotors so i can't get on it too much.

I have used axxis ceramics for a year now on my 240sx, and they are good, not gonna tell you any horror stories, or how they must be sent from god, just good.

I am thinking of trying red stuff pads next to see how they do, ive heard green stuff are awesome but wont last very long at all. Any one else had experience with "red stuff" pads? I too am in the market for a better pad with high fade tolerances.

I'm using the Axxis Deluxe in front and Metal Masters in back. I was getting a lot of dust build up in the front. It's minimal now.
