No, No, The Profec B spec II is crap. The original Profec B and the new Profec Type-S are both good to use. :thumb:

hmm I have no problems with the spec 2.. But i guess i can see where some of you would have trouble. Yeah the profec 2 is pretty advanced and might take a little longer to figure out, its not for everyone i guess.

Hmm yeah I guess it is just too advanced for us cavemen. There is a reason why the brand new model of Profec, the type S, doesn't have the fuzzy logic.....cuz it's trash. If I were you, I would simply buy a hallman, joe p., or similar and keep it simple, keep it functional. Thats just me though.

ok, so the type s is an option, but does anybody have any imput about the turbosmart e-boost or the apexi avcr?

Also, how is the new greddy E0-1? I really like some of the features, but i cant decide if it is worth the $$$

i have the apex avc-r, and it is also a pain in the butt to tune. it works well, and it keeps the boost, but now i wish i had just put in a mbc. also, when i installed it, i had to get the hks electronic idle destabilizer, otherwise your car may just shut off on you. mine did while going 45 mph in traffic, not a fun experience. i heard this doesnt happen to all dsm's, but about 50% of them need this part. it was $75.

I was fortunate enough to get the e01 at cost and I absolutely love it. Mine worked from day one and with three different turbos and it's so easy to use. The unfortunate thing is that it is pricey so it's really up to you.

I also have the Apexi AVC-R in my Talon and it is harder to set up and get working correctly but works fine also. I prefer the e01 over the AVC-R by a wide margin though.

The old Profec B was probably the best bang for the buck in electronic boost controllers if you can find one. I know that alot of guys swear by the manual boost controllers but I have seen too many guys using them with boost spike problems to recomend them.

i ran the Turbo XS dual stage in my GST for over a year and i loved it! I recommend it to anyone. You get in-cockpit adjustment with great reliability.

I have ran the turboxs dsbc in my talon for about a year now and LOVE IT!!!

Wow what a difference it made! No spiking, great psi dial in (and easy too, granted you kinda need a boost gauge  ), just all around awesome! I love being able to instantly change the boost setting from low to hi or vice versa in the car. Check out my gallery for my interior pic to see where I mounted it.

I think for a fwd turbo a dsbc (mechanical or electronic) is a must. For us awd guys its sweet because I can not only run two different settings, but also can keep boost low (I run 10psi on my b16g with NO creep) for around town or highway driving to keep the gas mileage up and flip that toggle switch when I want to scoot around.

To the original poster, I would highly recommend this setup, I mean look at who else is using it/has used it. Great product, excellent quality, perfect functionality.

If you look around you can easily pick one up used for around $100. I got mine in mint condition off the trader for $110 shipped.
