I'm going to be replacing both of my front axles over the Thanksgiving break from school along with the entire front suspension setup and also doing the big brake upgrade. I've already ordered all the parts and I thought I had everything covered. The guy at the auto parts store told me that everything would be included with the axles to do an easy install, but when I opened the boxes there was no castle nut included like he said there would be. My question is where can I get new castle nuts since mine are barely recognizable as nuts and I'm using a nut breaker to get them off. The other question is are they truly that special because I have full access to a machine shop and I'm sure there are nuts there that will easily fit. Could I just take one from there and drill the hole for the cotter pin and be dine with this?

i'd go back and tell them to get you some. i've gotten quiet a few axles and they all had castle nuts on there. i personally would try to get them rather then drilling a hole into a new nut. its much easier to see the hole in the axle and get it lined up.
