Whenever I drive and shift gears in my 1g gsx I get this clunk noise that seems to be coming from the back but I could be wrong. Don't the rear differentials on these cars have mounts that soften the shock? I believe that is what has worn out. Where would I go about buying this other then the stealership? Thanks for the help

I would recommend going with solid bushings with your setup. You will be amazed at the difference and feel of the car.

Thanks for the reply. Solid mounts in the front and back would be nice but I hate the extra vibrations in the seating area. Would the solid bushings in the back make the car vibrate in the seating area? Where can I find both the stock replacement type and more solid kind? Thanks for the help

I have been searching and reading. It seems that the rear differential has a mount that attaches to the frame. This mount has 2 bushings in it that house the 2 bolts that hook up to another mount(looks almost like a transmission mount). This mount is then the bolted to the rear differential. I understand how it works, but I can't find these parts on any of the performance websites. I have seen some people online that had solid ones, and ones that are not solid, but obviously allow for less movement. Any help locating these parts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Why are you trying to find a part that you don't know for sure is bad? If you "get this clunk noise that seems to be coming from the back but I could be wrong" you should check it out for sure before you spend money for nothing. Are you sure the "clunk" isn't the carrier bearings in the drive shaft?

I found a way to make my own mounts that are a bit stiffer but not much. I'll also check out the bearings you mentioned and a few other things that I have read about. Thanks for the help
