where to buy dipstick?

Hey guys I was wondering where I could get a new dipstick for my car. It just started to pop out and I want to replace it first to see if thats the problem

I got a new dipstick from my local Mitsu dealership for $12 and didn't have to pay the shipping/handling other places charge.

Otherwise Mach V does sell them here

When some oil change place guys broke the handle off mine, I ordered one from a Chrysler dealership: $12. So if one is closer than a Mitsu dealership, you can go there. Whichever works for you.

Since no one else has said it, the dipstick itself isn't the problem, the rubber seal around it that goes on to the tube dries out and hardens, causing it to lose grip and pop out.

Since that seal is attached to the dipstick itself, might as well do it right and cough up the $12 and get a nice new dipstick with a new seal.

Yes, but you can't just replace the rubber seal, so you have to replace the entire dipstick.

while on the subject of dipsticks here is some thing funny. Normaly i do my oil chage at home but this time I had no time so i took it to walmart for an oil change. I know, i dont trust any person with my car but i had no option at this point. So i know my dipstick is broken right where the rode connects to the little lever where you pull from it. So my buddy and me park the car right before the oil place entrance and walk in, get the paper work started leave the key and stand in the waiting room. Since there is no one in front of me waiting we stand there and watch the guys. So they pull the car in and this guy has the nerve to pull in the car while slipping the clutch to make the BOV go off . First mistake, so he gets out opens the hood and tells somthing to his frined. Now there is like 4 workers all looking at my engine like the have never seen a evo 3 turbo. I look over at my friend and say "watch this" there is a guy getting ready to pull out the dip stick. Right after he tried to take it out he has only the top part of the dipstick in his hands. He looks over at all his friends and was like WTF . Long story short, my car got pulled out and i was told to fix my dip stick and come back. So i went and bought some crazy glue and fixed that problem. Funny day my buddy and I we like just thinking of the look on that guys face when he pulled out half a dip stick.

Back on subject that reminds me I still need a new dip stick.

Trans-Dapt/Chikara made a pretty nice one for the 4G63 engine. It had a billet aluminum handle, and it had a very nice rubber seal on the end. It was virtually impossible to pop it out of the dipstick tube by accident. Part number is 5636.

Try a chrysler dealer if you don't have a mitsu dealer nearby $12 got me in and out the door with a brand new one
