I know i need to get my WB02 on ASAP because im running rich as heck. But after that should i go with DSM link? GM MAF? or what? PLEASE HELP

DSMlink should have been your FIRST upgrade.

Why in the world should Link have been his first upgrade?

He should definitely start looking at it now but I don't believe it needed to be his first upgrade at all.

Also depending on how far he is taking the car maybe even Link Lite might be a better idea, also check out http://www.dsmchips.com/

Why?

Explain why it's not a smart investment for someone who's obviously looking for power?

With LINK from the start, you have the option to tune everything to peak as you upgrade, allowing optimum performance as you advance down your " DSM power-trip road". So as you buy something, you can then tune and get exactly what you expect or more from it.

So I take it you're suggestion would be " Get all the bolt-ons you need, have it run at 50% max performance, then tune! That way when you do, it's like a brand new car! "

There's no negative to getting Link as your first upgrade. The ONLY downside is the cash you shell out for it. Name a Negative.

^^

To the OP, you might not need to drop hundreds of dollars on a tuning setup depending on what your goals are. An SAFC might ift what you need. There is an upgrade path in the TECH section of this forum. Read through that and post back with any questions.

don't get dsmlink... get a 98 and 99 reflashable ecu.... ecuflash with evoscan is far superior... with stock mods and a dead on tune youd be suprised how fun it is to drive!!

After you get a way to manage your fuel weather it be DSMlink or SAFC or a flashed ecu, you might want to consider getting a little bit bigger of a turbo such as a t-28 or a 16g even.

Port your exhaust manifold or upgrade to a Forced Performance Mani

ECMLink is never a bad investment, not only is it one of the best tuning softwares for DSMS but it offers a great logger and you can switch over to speed density.

Sounds like your next step should be looking into some bigger injectors 550cc+
Then look into a 190lph or 255lph walbro.

Then look at a 16g or if you are trying to stay within a budget - pick up a used 14b.

Something like an SAFC might be fine for you if you aren't comfortable with forking up $350 for v3 Lite or like me when I payed $600 for my v3 LOL.

DSMChips also has a very good reptuation.

I think you should list a hp goal first. Then folks on here can really help with the direction to take your car.

How do you know that you're running rich?

for buget purposes you can get an evo 8/9 fuel pump as well as evo 560c you can go to the evo forums and get them dirt cheap that takes care of your fuel upgrade for stage 2. for management get safc or an reflashable ecu and for turbo the most practical one is a 16g ofcourse used this is all budget upgrades. If you dont have a budget than dsmlink and wally 255,720c,fp manifold, any fp turbo, aero fpr, and the list goes on.

i would like to be able to squeeze about 325hp out of the car...i was blowing black smoke since i put on the DP and exhaust, i got my WB02 installed and drove it approx 325 in a weekend and the gauge was avg at about 12.3-12.9 A/F just need to tie up some loose ends before i get it tuned

I think you're definately going to need more fuel then - pump, injectors, and afpr. You will not need a gm maf for that hp goal. If you can afford link I'd do it since it's great to use and has other benefits too. The T28 will have a hard time getting you there as well. You may need to get a front mount intercooler too but others may disagree.

im not trying to get that right away though im slowly working up to that it is a daily driver so i cant have it tied up for long periods at a time. next step will be some kind of Link then im going to get manifold, walbro 190 or 255 fp with regulator, and possibly some bigger injectors.
