Where is the Engine Coolant Temp Sensor?

My 92 AWD is throwing a CEL 121 code for the engine coolant temp sensor. At first I unscrewed the sensor near the top of the thermastat housing sticking at an angle towards the MAS, but the plug is different than the new sensor (I believe this is the AC fan temp sensor).

So, where is the sensor that gives the ECU its information?

Also, I am curious to know where the engine coolant temp gauge sensor is located.

The coolant temperature sensor is on the bottom half of the thermistat housing not the top, its on the bottom towards the left.
