As you can see i am new here and to the DSM world. I just bought a 95, Talon TSi AWD and the speedo gear is broken which isn't a problem to change, but the cable is also missing. I was wondering if anyone could explain where this goes in the interior and where i can buy a new speedo gear and cable. I know it transmits is to an electronic signal at some point because i had the gauge cluster out and there is no place for the cable. thanks for the help

PS auto trans if it matters

the cable connects to the trans mission right in front of the passengers side cv axle and runs into the cockpit to a digital box which sends the signal to the speedo im sure there is a diagram listed in the tech forum

Like said above 2g's use a VSS located on top of the transmissions right in between the tranny mount, no cables.

Yup definitely an electronic sensor. If it stopped working, should be possible to pick up a new/used sensor.

And if your to lazy get one of them fancy smancy GPS units that have your speed haha. What a friend did to his MR2

sorry for the delayed response. Okay the top of the sensor is snapped off so i guess that explains that. do the wires come off the main harness? And so the sensor should have an electrical connection on top of it? Where can i get one?

nevermind figured it out. the sensor was snapped in half and moved way out of the way with half the sensor still on the wire.

if you cant find one on here it might be faster to go to a junk yard and get one. i want to say it has a 10mm bolts holding it down with a "w" shaped clip on it. dont quote me it has been a while since i have taken it off. but i am sure od the bolts holding it in
