Where do you buy Fidanza flywheel replacment surfaces?

This site may earn a commission from merchant affiliate links, including eBay, Amazon, and others.

so you have to pay to ship it to fidanza, than pay for them to do it and pay to have it shipped back?

when all the tools that are required to do it yourself is a scewdriver a wrench and a punch?

what a jip..

i though they sold the surface with the screw/bolts as a kit or something..

that sucks.

So you've looked into this and know how much it costs? I would hold off on the "this sucks" stuff until you know what you're talking about. For the little it costs to have it shipped back in forth you will get it professionally inspected, updated to the current design, installed with the correct torque and lock-tite and they will warrenty their work. Dose that sound like a "jip" to you?

labor
shipping of package 2 ways take prolly better part of 2 weeks before you get it back.. and thats assuming they get it out the same day they recieve it..

all this extra for a "warranty"?

its not rocket science.. im sure anyone smart enough to remove they flywheel in the first place can do the surface replacment..

so unless they charge like 20 bux.. yea, i do consider it a jip..

yep, RRE sells tit for 50 Bux, excellent!

just wondering, because im selling my 7 bolt one and wanted to include the cost and where to buy the surface in the ad..

BTW, im asking 200 bux for it and it has 2k miles on it if anyone is interested..

7 bolt FWD

One thing to remember is that flywheel resurfacing typically runs $30-$35 so it's only a little more $ for a new surface and you can get as many new ones as you need, you can only resurface a flywheel so many times before it get to thin/to far away from the TOB. You may want to check with some place (local is good) that sells them, they can probably order them for you.

And, uh... flywheel stuff IS rocket science. You don't just put on a new surface and got back at it. It needs to be true, it needs to be surfaced, it needs to be crack-free and it needs to be balanced.

When you want performance from a car -and stock DSMs put out remarkable levels of performance for their day- you have to hold up your end of the bargain. That means you don't pull it under the tree and jack it up on cement blocks and rassle with things. It means you pay a little more for the much more you're getting.

And sometimes, you do without for days or weeks because parts of the rocket have to be noodled-out by the scientists.
