Well last night i was taking off my downpipe and my downpipe to catback bolts were giving me a very hard time. I finally got the bolts off but in the process the flange for the catback broke off and now i just want to replace it beacuse it's so damn rusty! I need the "midpipe" or "center pipe" . The part with the resonator in it and has a bung for the secondary o2 sensor.

It is the top pipe in the picture.

The top section of pipe in your picture is called a downpipe and it replaces the factory pipe and cat. you can find one on almost every dsm vendors website.

The top pipe is not a downpipe, it is the pipe after the downpipe. I am trying to find a replacement one since my apexi one rotted through.

If you can't find the pipe for sale anywhere then try to find a hillbilly exhaust shop that will make you one. Some will do it cheap, especially if you know them well. Just find flanges and have them bend a 3" pipe and weld it up.

well i live on teh east coast and im not trying to get something that will rust to shit after a couple months. Plus if i can find one already made, for the most part it will be direct bolt up

Anyone know where i could find one of these? or purchase one from someone?

You want to replace the whole section or just the flange?

This will give you all the pipe you would need to replace that section.

i would like to replace the whole section with a SS pipe that i could buy from a company. I would fab up my own pipe since i do have access to a mig+tig welder but i just dont have the time with work and all.

Why not call apexi? If you find one you are not guaranteed it will fit every company does not put flanges on the same way and they will not all be the same length.

All you are doing is paying for a name and the use of their skills/tools. Sure Apexi can prob. get it to you but like you said, it'll most likely be $100+. Hopefully lower if you are lucky.

It would just be cheaper to goto an exhaust shop and have them fit and weld the pipe.


Do post what Apexi would charge for the pipe however.

If you are trying to do it under a $100 see if some one has a used apexi piece if not your going to have to bit the bullet and get a shop to make one.

yea for sure, i emailed an eBay company to see if they could sell me the section i needed so hopefully i get a response back sometime soon. I would love to make one myself if i just had more free time.

blinky, thats what 80 dollars shipped gets you now a days too bad i haven't been able to hear it yet since im in the process of changing out my con-rod bearings!

well i called up Apex'i and i was talking to a guy and he said he would have to look around if he had an extra one lyaing around since they don't sell them individually. Well, a week later and still no call from him. Hmmm guess ill have to get one made or just buy a super cheap SS catback and use that pipe.
