Car is back on the road as of tuesday. Been fighting a boost issue. Havnt narrowed it down to what it is. But got three things. Muffler clogged, Wastgate arm or the wastegate nipple. Had to bend it a little to clear the turbo intake. Its boosting better now. I was seeing only like 4 pounds above 4K RPM's.

For those who did not already know, being a dad is a lot of work. I really value my spare time now as my projects are piling up. I love spending time with my son Jack, but there is a lot of stuff that just needs to get done. I had to pass up a decent deal on a clean Hyundai Excel hatch that would have been a great donor patient for a 4G63 since i have a bunch of other stuff going on now and very little time to get to it.

The laser has been getting as much attention lately as i can offer it. My pile of parts to be installed has never been so big and I'm anxious to get everything on and hit the track, but god knows when that will be. The main project at hand with it is the rear sub frame bushings and new trailing arms with toe eliminators welded in. I'm also going to be swapping out my suspension springs for a different set, upgrading to dual piston calipers, stainless brake lines and drilled rotors. During a recent boost leak test Matt and I found that my lower IC pipe was cocked side ways and not sealing well. I have bought a new piece of piping and have been cutting it down to size. I'm also trying to clock my turbo for a less kinked oil drain line and so on and so on. Another project i have on my plate is bringing home a diesel Kubota tractor and doing some repairs and maintenance on it. My father in law has just had it sitting for years now and he figured it would get more use from him and I once i did some tinkering with it when i bring it up to the garage. It has a huge 5'+ mower deck under the belly, a medium size bucket up front and some kind of large ho/tiller box out back.

So the laser has a bunch of work to be done before i head back to the track to try to get some better sixty foots and attempt to reset the Holset HX35 bolt on 1/4mile E/T record. On a side note, to any who may be interested, I bought a '91 Plymouth Colt hatch back in the winter and finally sorted out some issues and got it on the road and have been commuting to work/DD for the past few weeks on days that i do not need to pick up Jack. I'm happy to say that this Mitsu powered economy car (mitsubishi mirage hatchback) has been trouble free so far...well i do think i heard the other axle clicking last night, and his has been averaging over 35mpg even with a 3 speed automatic. Those numbers aren't extremely impressive, but i'm used to filing up my truck every 4 days at about $80 a fill up since it averages 16mpg. Now i'm spending $30 every 8-10days with the colt.

I still need to do some research, and yes Adam i have watched some JaffroMobile vids :thumb:, but down the road i think i may swap out the 1.5L 4G15 and the 3 speed auto, for a turbo 4G63 and a FWD auto 4speed from a dsm. I just need to see how the dsm fwd auto trans would fit in there and how everything would line up. I bought the Colt as a beater car to save on gas, so i probably won't attempt the swap unless i have good reason too, like a blown engine or trans. Sorry if i bored you guys but just wanted to update you a bit...here are some pics:

Very nice Travis. Your doing an awesome job trying to juggle things with the house, kids, cars, tractors, wife, Ect.. I have no doubt you'll come out ready for an ass woopin..ha It's definitely fun awaiting having a bunch of parts to install. I myself need to do quite a bit of stuff, bit unfortunately I don't have the money and may not for some time. The first thing I guess I gotta do is pull the tranny and see exactly what's going on and what broke. I'm hoping to be back on the road before to long with a final alignment and the QTP's..

Our traps show 10's man. We just gotta get it down the track first!

Keep it up Travis!!!!

Im in need of some dire help. Replaced hg yesterday. Things went good till i tried to start her up. No start. After much diag yesterday and today ive come to find the coil driver for cylinders 2/3 has died. So im stuck in westminster right now. Idk how im gettin back but i was wonder if anyone had a spare ecu or maybe let me borrow one sp that i can send mine to tom and see if he can fix it. I really need spme help. So any will be greatly appreciated

Stuck in westminister as in stranded stuck like in need of a tow truck? I have a 90 ecu somewhere, im thinking at my shop that i believe is good, it was a motorguys rebuild. Id have to do some digging

Car is at a friends. I was stuck. It didnt leave me on road. If you can it would be a huge huge help.

Thanks concrete. For whatever reason my car decides to break down at the most inconvenient time. It could not pick a better time or place to take a crap on me.

...Mine still sits outside my bay at the shop.. its like its own parking spot! But im going to make it to the mir thing in july, even if i have to sell my self on the side of rt40 somewhere!

Just wondering aswell if anyone has a 90 cas. or a 91-94 with a pigtail from the harness. Some info ive read has said a bad cas can cause the issue im seeing as well. I cant find much info on that but id like to have both bases covered.

dude i probably have a 90 cas too, i just gotta find the damn things. i boxed up alot of parts a few months ago to clean my shop up and stuck them in different spots spread out and now i cant put my hand on anything... ill try again tomorrow sir!

Just wondering if you where able to get ## hands on anything? Trying to figure out what to do right now. Not having my dd is pretty awful:(

So i was able to mess with the car. Pulled the cas found two wires broken. After handling it the last two broke as well. So i fixed them up as best as i could. Still same issue. Pulled again the ground wire pulled out. Soldered it back and now it fires better but not on its own and after tdc by about 20 degrees or so. So im adiment its the cas. It does fire all 4 plugs. But it seems to fire 1/4 2x or 3x faster than 2/3.

I'm with you guys. My first and second gears are gone. Currently looking for another trans, or parts. But I'm in no rush. GL Adam with your trans issue. If you guys come across a 2g fwd trans, let me know.

Damn.. Built the car, didn't even show face at all with said car, and already blew the tranny and probably gonna part it out? Man..Can you let a brother see it first next time..haha

HA You're funny as shyt! Definitely not parting it out! It still works, but the gears are basically sheared. after 3500rpm, it will free rev in 1st and 2nd. I might end up taking it apart and tossing in a set of double synchros. But I'm tied up building an evo8 right now, so I dont have time for anything.

By the way, Why the hell arent you trapping 150???? Don't be scurred...

Russ, is the evo8 a side job, or are you not telling us something? Oh and by the way, Adam is trapping zeros until he pulls that trans out. I know he has been busy though.

I bought a bunch of stuff for my garage from a guy that was closing down a shop and I'm just now getting it all organized so I can actually walk in the garage. More time permitting, I'll get back to the laser and keep those parts flying on the car and get that new tight rear end up in there...that sounded kinky.

HA Travis you know you cant say those things around Adam, He been locked up n shyt!!! The evo owner is a friend of mine. And Adam, I'd rather be driving my mirage, seeing as how it pulled away from the evo guy's gsxr 1000. I'm really not worried about any Evo's
