Shit like mine does?ROFL Im hoping for a bracket class ### im sure as hell not going to be far enough along to compete, but having my car there to drive around for a coulple days will be worth taking it.

Stop dreaming...that motor has been in my garage for a LOOOOOOOOOOOONG time. I don't see you doing anything anytime soon.:nono: Your a duramax man now....remember?:applause:

I don't know about you guys, but I feel we have a lot to offer at the SO. One of us is driving home with a Buschar plaque. We may not be Q16 worthy, especially Tony, but we can kill'em in some bracket or some DSME. Think positive. :)

I have an idea..why don't we work together as a team to get our cars together? When we come home, we can be enemy's again. Trust me, you are not going to like seeing my tail lights all the time Tony.. muahahahaha....

I only have the pressure plate and i was asking $100 shipped, but i guess if you want it how's $75 picked up?

Yeah my Tundra does ok with it, but Ohio is a long hilly 8 hours away that begs for diesel. Maybe i'll just try to race at Englishtown this year. I would love to go to Ohio for the weekend during the shoot out though.

I really don't want another sprung hub. But that sounds good, I may just pick it up from you anyway. I'm currently thinking about building a block for my 93 mirage. That should suffice if I plan to keep it fwd:thumb:

Haha, you guys are funny. I'm down to get some work done. I've been making good progress with my engine down here, money is the hold up on other things. But the budget committee gave me a "partial budget approval" so i have ordered the parts to keep things going up until the point where i'll be at soon. At this point I'm waiting for some parts to get in the mail, were supposed to be here yesterday?! Tomorrow is my day off though so me and a buddy will get some more work done on my bottom end installing the front cover/oil pump assembly and i'm supposed to be getting some timing belt pulleys and a waterpump in as well. I think we'll have to work hard and see where we're at when things get closer.

Adam, I heard you were looking for a truck LOL, not sure on your budget, but i came across this deal. Wonder if he wants to trade that for a clean '97 GST?

UG!!!! I've been looking for a '90-94 mirage/excel relentlessly and can't find any for sale around MD. I'm not ready to buy, but i have a spare 6bolt long block, and that clutch if i can't sell it that i would love to be a doner for one of those cars. 4dr preferably. Either way, i can't bring home another project anytime soon or the wife jars up my nuggets. Let me know on the clutch and it's yours.

adam, ill never see your tail lights ### unless you get a truck, youll be calling me nonstop to tow your busted ass home!:shhh: But since ill never finish mine and my head is together, ill make you a good deal on it!OMG Love you buddy, answer my phone calls d*ck!:tease: Im down with the team work thing, Taxes getting filed this weekend, ready to buy again, oh after i pick up a few duramax parts, just for you adam!

Man! I've been looking for this car for about a year! The one I found is a two door though, 5 speed 1.5, so I'll be saving a little bit on gas for a while. Paint sucks, but other than that someone took very good care of it.

In a few weeks I'll be going to PA to bring a few cars back from the auction. If I can find one for a couple hundred in the No-Run section I'll let you know. I got mine for 250, and runs great, just been sitting under a tree and needed a battery.

That'd be cool. A couple hundred i could probably do. I think to keep things affordable it would have to be a '92 or older so i could slap Historic tags on it soon. I think the Mirage body style changed a lot earlier than it's excel counter part brother. I would only want the 4dr unless maybe it was an Excel hatch, i don't want a colt or mirage hatch. This is the body style i'd be looking for: 1994 Hyundai Excel seems to be the same body style from '90-94 as well as some of the late 80's i think. http://www.edmunds.com/hyundai/excel/1990/

What do you use to bring your cars back? Tow truck, truck and trailer? If you need some transporting help, let me know. ;)

4 door excel would be sweet.
I almost grabbed a d50 a couple weeks ago.
I'll keep my eyes out for one down this way

That's awesome! Yeah i like the D50's/Mighty Max trucks too. I already have a truck and i used to have a Lightning, so I'm done with the quick truck thing for now. I love the 4G63 in unassuming vehicles kinda thing. The excel seems like a good doner and would make a fun beater/toy car that had some room on the inside. Not much i'm sure as it is a tiny 4 door car. Reminds me tons of my '92 corolla i had.
Please let me know if you come across a 88-94 excel for sale.
I'd be ok with a mirage or summit SEDAN of the same boxy body style, preferably '92 or older

Tony had a fun time, Adam the Five Guys burgers you missed were legendary. Next time we'll have to get some 1Gs in the bay and get some wrenches turned. I think that i could make that trip again soon, wouldn't be a bad idea to see mom dukes once in a while since she lives 5 miles from the shop.

Going to see mom is a great excuse to work on some dsm's! Post it up next time you wanna come by the shop, see if we can get a minor crowd assembled in my bay! Heat works great in there:thumb:

You might want to give someone more than a 20 minute ETA next time fata$$.:thumb: Either way, I was puking my guts out all weekend, so anywhere but my bed wasnt going to happen for me. (Thanks WAWA).I'm down for this weekend if we want to set a time now. Maybe this time I won't have to ask you 30 times during the week if we are getting together this weekend, you saying you havent heard anything, then it happens anyway.:ohdamn: DDDDIIIICCCCCCKKKKKK!!!!!

Haha, I take partial blame for that. I had plans that i blew off to come up to the shop. I texted Tony when i got off work later in the after noon, but he was busy so we didn't talk till i was 25 min from the shop. It was kind of last minute.
This weekend my father in law is supposed to come over and help me put in 2 new bathrooms at my house so my wife and I can list it for sale soon. Not sure how long that will take on Saturday, i could call Tony when I'm done i guess. You guys need to part out that TSI and get some cash for parts. What day were you guys thinking of get some work done?

Anyway im down for whenever, saturday works, sunday probably works with enough notice, lets just get it cracking.

Damn i am fat, im going to wawa now!:shhh:

Either day would be cool. I know we need to start to get some work done.
I would like to come up Sunday and make a day out of it.

- I bring my 1G up, put it in the other bay and swap rears.
-You bring the Talon in the bay and we swap suspension.
-I bring up the fender roller and we do our fenders.

We can put my 3 bolt back in the Talon to go to scrap. This will give it a little more wieght. I'm never going to use it again, and you know 3 bolts are NOT in demand.

The more hands the better. Free food and beer for those that attend!!!

I'll be right back, i have to go ask my wife if i can come out and play on sunday.

So the wife says that if her dad can't make it over on Saturday to help us put in 2 new bathrooms, he'll be coming over on Sunday. I'm not trying to be last minute again, but it looks that way. BTW, Tony I owe you dinner, I haven't forgotten. Damn, It's 9:20 and all i can think about now is a Wawa sub!

Wawa sub huh??? Funny travis. :applause:

Yeah I'm a fat kid too. I did manage to skip the wawa sub for breakfast, but i did eat an early lunch at McD's. That was about an hour ago, I'm already hungry what the hell.

I will never eat Wawa again after how I felt after eating there friday night. Tony is the fatboy, not you.

How's that motor coming along. You reusing your front case?

Wish my pockets were as fat as i am, i forgot how much shit cost its been so long since ive bought stuff. Oh well, and on the fatboy status, just had me some tacobell, yep, living fat!

Your buying parts? For the Talon? GTFO! Somebody pinch me. I thought I was the only one spending crazy money on parts. Don't wanna get my hopes up to fast, there probably for the.ducheamax.

I bought a new front cover and oil pump that is on the motor now, i took more pictures but left the camera in the garage. I'm going over later to do some more work on it and i'll try to post up the pics.

Not sure if i would recomend reusing a 100k+ mile front cover/oil pump. The one i pulled off of my new block is yours if you need it. The block was from a '91 2.0 N/T though, and i have borrowed some of the bolts from the oil pump to go on the new motor. The engine on the N/T 2.0 4G63 looked pretty fresh though. The one that is on my motor in the laser wont be available till i yank the long block out though, but again, i would recomend a new one. The one I bought was on Ebay for $112 shipped. It's "aftermarket", but i have a buddy with one on his 6 bolt with numerous low 11 sec passes. You can see where the logo has been scratched out on the front cover so it can be sold as "aftermarket" for less $. Comes with gaskets, front cover, oil pump, drive gear, driven gear, and oil pump sprocket. 89-92 MITSUBISHI ECLIPSE & GALANT 2.0L OIL PUMP 1G 4G63 - eBay (item 150522202419 end time Feb-16-11 19:41:34 PST)
Let me know if you need anything I got. :thumb:

I'm strait on the pump. When I had JAM build my motor, I bought one off them. I only ask because I have been thinking about this for a while. I don't think mine is OEM even though it looks identical. Does yours have the DOHC symbol on it? Everybody says OEM. Makes me wanna allmost run my pump on my car now , just to be safe. I guess I'll have to hope I will be able to tell its bad , if it ever does go bad, before it destroys all that money in the shortblock.
I have even been doubting my piston/rod combo in terms of max HP , but after talking to people with the same setup, this combo is good to go. I did pick up a kiggly girdle as a finishing touch to tie the mains together. Well worth it and reasonably priced. Got mine new for 75 shipped. Ill be sending the head out to get built soon and then there's just getting the fuel lines and misc.stuff. Turbo comes tomorrow..:sneaky: o
You run meth inj. Travis?

Adam I'm sorry to tell you this, but i've heard nothing but not good things about JAM. I hope that you're the rare instance and everything goes well for you. I can't remember if the old cover, new cover or both had the DOHC stamping on it, maybe just the old one. I see everyone say only run OEM as well, but i have a buddy with the same one and he has no problems so i figured I'd try it out to save $250 since I'm poor.

Did you pick up the Kiggly girdle from that guy that was selling it on Link? Before i had time to think about it, it was gone. What turbo did you get, post some pics up tomorrow!

As of now i just run straight race gas 112 oct+, but have had thoughts on E85 lately. I'll post some pics and an update of my engine tonight or tomorrow. How's Sunday sound for you guys to get some stuff done at Tony's shop?

So i found this while on a Cummins forum (just browsing LOL) but according to WIKI on google, 1G dsm's are 14.4' long which means 2 of them bumper to bumper would be 28.8' long so I dont think you could put 2 1Gs on this trailer. Looks like you could, but i know looks can be deceiving. Oh yeah I forgot to mention it's almost 4 grand, but maybe Tony could look at it like an investment.

Also just found this one, not sure if you would have anywhere to park it long term though- did someone say 3-4 car trailer WEDGE BABY!!!! http://baltimore.craigslist.org/cto/2198479984.html
Good thing I don't own a deisel and i'm not shopping for one: http://baltimore.craigslist.org/cto/2180593617.html
They keep getting cheaper!!! http://baltimore.craigslist.org/cto/2140856496.html

I know about the JAM thing. Didnt know what I was getting into back in 09'. I bought the shortblock new off craigslist and brought it back to them to have better rods put in. I will never use them again and had a not so desirable experience. Suprisingly, the evo forums are packed with JAM builds and i have heard people on there swear by them. Hopefully the motor was put together well and will last. If not, I now know what I didn't know then.:thumb:

On a more postive note...yes that was me..scooped the girdle up quick. Should be here Friday. I'm hoping this will strengthen this motor. Gonna need it with this turbo.
Now can you understand my concern with the pump and were it came from? I hate to drop the $250 also and don't plan on doing it. Cross my fingers.

Sunday is cool with me. Trying to help swap a rear and some suspension? LOL
