When Recirculating

I have herd all the ups and downs of venting, and i have sat in front of my comp for hours reading all the post on it. One question I never read answered was "when venting back into the intake can you hear it." I know most aftermarket BOV's can be pretty loud. So if you are recirculating with a loud BOV wouldnt you still be able to hear it? The Recirc pipe cant muffle it that much can it????? just a quick question on it. Thanks a ton

It depends on if you have an open element filter.

I had a Dejon tools intake and Greddy Type S BOV installed with the stock airbox. Boosting at 15 psi, I couldn't hear jack when I let off to shift.

After I had an Injen intake installed, theres a loud PSSSH whenever I shift while I'm boosting.

I have always recirculated...never tried venting to atmosphere

i run a extreme psi intake with a 1st gen BOV not venting.. its pretty loud. Have scared peeps with the window down if I release next to them.

Aight well that brings my spirit up when it comes to recirculating . There are few things in the automotive world i love more than the deeeep rumble of a big ol' high performance exhaust winding up, and then that peak moment when the throttle plate closes and the wonderfull PSSSSSHHHHH of a happily venting BOV............Its Absolute Beauty!

it definately cuts out ALOT of the noise, with stock tubing. I can barely hear mine and when its vented it is LOUD AS HELL. But I believe it is quite worth it.

i agree, the pros definatly outweigh the cons for recurculating. plus, w/ less bov noise in between shifts you can hear the turbo spool, which, in my opinion, is a much better sound.
