Comes on then goes right back off.

Got the code pulled and it showed there was no active or previous codes thrown.

When it comes on is usually towards the end of 2nd gear but nothing feels different. After it goes back off 2-3 seconds later it stays off and car runs/drives fine.

do you have LINK? log the run, if not, than do the usual, check for lose connections to all sensors. CPS, MAF, TPS, ect. because the engine is gonna roll when you punch it. my only other suggestion without more information is try running better, higher octane gas.

Do you happen to have a chipped ecu? Most burnt EPROM chips or link had a function to make the cel come on for knock, which won't show on a code reader. If your not sure pull the ecu and check and see.

Yeh sounds like you have or had Link or the ECU has been chipped. Most likely the knock threshold setting the CEL.

Update: it will now do the same thing even when I'm sitting still. CEL light comes on and the headlights flicker twice, then cel light goes right back off. I have no idea what to do with my ecu, as I'm still pretty noob.

And what is knock? If that is the issue, what maintenance do I need to be doing in order to prevent disaster?

Never had this problem until after I got it back from the shop last weekend. They put new struts/springs, front axels, front control arms, and put a bulb in my CEL because it was out and wouldn't come on when turning the car on. After they relaced the bulb they had to reset the computer which had lead to this problem, and it seems as if the car doesn't idle as smooth.
