Wheel well splash guards

I have both the driver and pass side lower/front splash guards. While I was working on the car i just realized that from the front suspension i can see the bottom of the strut towers clear as day. exposed to the elements. It got me thinking is there or should there be some platic liner pieces where the bottom of the strut towers are showing?

The front plastic fender well splash sheilds only go over to the knuckles. The bottoms of the strut towers are exposed. I think that's what you were asking.
