I was looking into wheel spacers... not extreme but the thin ones... do they help at all with cornering or anything besides making the car wider?

ON A STOCK SIZE WHEEL AND OFFSET COMBO YOU CAN ONLY MANAGE 225 WIDTH SIZE..........IF YOU USE WHEEL SPACERS, YOU CAN PUSH THE ENVELOPE AND GO TO ABOUT 255-265................ AND FOR FWD GUYS THAT MAKES A HUGE DIFFERENCE WHEN YOU NEED TRACTION
ALSO CAN BE USED FOR SHOW TO HAVE A LOWER, WIDER LOOKING STANCE SO THE ANSWER TO YOUR QUESTION IS BOTH............

It looks a good deal more aggressive, and I haven't had any adverse effects of having them on there (they've been on there since I bought my car 3 years ago). I run mine only for looks; seems to be doing good so far.
Thanks for the heads up but what is a good thickness to get to be flush to the fenders like the newe BMW M3's?DiabloRT said:If you do go with wheel spacers....
I suggest the CNC machined Eibach ones.....the same company that makes the springs. Their spacers are hubcenteric... they sit hubcentrically on your hub and they also provided a hubcentric lip/ring/shelf for your wheel to sit hubcentrically on it. So ultimately everything remains centered.
Road Race Engineering sells long studs....you plan on getting them, if you use the Eibach spacers.
