The clearcoat on my wheels has been peeling off badly, I was wondering if there is any easy way to remove all of it. I was thinking wet sanding with 1000 grit sandpaper might do it but I'm worried it might leave scratched on the chrome lip. Any suggestions?

Is it the chrome lip where they are peeling? or is the painted part of the wheel peeling? If it is the Chrome, I would'nt sand it because it will scratch it. If you do decide to do it try something like 1500-2000 grit sandpaper, and work your way to more abrasive if they dont work.
