wheel bearings or hubs

OK I have a 95 get and I was wondering if the car has bearings or hubs

Technically it has both.

I know some cars have just a wheel bearing and some cars have that hub. Which is a big part and the wheel bearing is a smaller part

I think what the OP is asking is. If you want to replace the bearing, do you have to buy a whole hub with the bearing inside, or can you get the bearing separate. Well Yes you can buy the bearing separate, but I wound urge you to buy the whole hub and bearing together as its a real pain the other way.

well if its a 1g then he has to get the bearing pressed out. 2g you can just buy the hub which has the wheel bearing in it.

I would just replace the whole thing. I did. Got 2 hub assembly's off ebay for 90 bux shipped. save your self some pain and worries.

On the 1g the bearing can be pressed out. 2g's no - it's not made to be. I've never heard of anyone pressing it out. I'm sure you'd cause hub damage if you did.

I completely agree. I did the rear drivers side hub on my tsi awd and man was it a bi***. It took me forever. I tried to hammer it, heat it, etc. Finally I put a 3 armed puller behind it and heated it until it broke free and pulled it off.

Where can I buy a good quality front hub/wheel bearing? OEM is $98 each side.

$98 is the cheapest I've ever heard of. Bewear cheaper ones won't last.
