i'm having a very difficult time getting the wheel bearing out of my 91 GVR4 hub. it has way too much play, and it needs to be changed.

i have the outer seal out already, i also have the snap ring out (which isn't the easiest thing to do ). right now i'm trying to pull the bearing out, however it seems as though it is connected to the axle shaft hole, and i cannot seem to get any play to work it loose. i have a spare 90 GGSX hub, i got to the same point with and the bearing and axle shaft hole is level, on the GVR4 hub, they are not level and there is a fair amount of bearing relatively above the axle nut hole.

i have searched and there seems to be nothing about wheel bearing removal. nor is the haynes manual i have of any help at all, since it is a completely different design.

there does not appear to be any way to get to the bearing from the other side. nor can i get to the inner seal.

if anyone has any light to shed on the subject soon, i would be incredibly appreciative!
 
I know you probably want to do as much by yourself as possible but I just went through this and it is a huge pain. What I would suggest is take your knuckle and hub, seperated in two (it sounds like you already have this done) and bring it to a shop and ask them to press on a new bearing for you. Since I supplied them with the bearing, it only cost me $36 and it was worth it IMO. I generally don't like people working on my car because you don't know what they do to it, but this wasn't so bad because I was just bringing in those two parts for them to press in the new bearing.
 
For future reference it makes it much less of a headache to just replace the hub with a new bearing in it, you dont have to worry about it being pressed in wrong. You cant just pull it out, your going to have to have it pressed out and a new one pressed in accordingly.
