I guess I should have specified. MKIII-newer have issues. MKII's don't have anything to really go bad. You can beat them up for days with no consequence .

Unless the f*cking octopus of a fuel system goes gimpy. Try figuring those issues out!

My other daily driver has 2 wheels and weighs a few hundred pounds.

I'd look into a Nissan Maxima. Fits the bill perfectly.

Attatched is the usual ride if I'm car-less, although my girlfriend's Cavalier gets me around if she's around.

Edit : I DD the Talon 99% of the time.

I don't see how you can get around with that small of a crank sprocket.

I just got a 1994 Nissan Altima SE. Four doors, sunroof, leather, m/t with 126k for 3100. It's def not the coolest car but it's pretty nice and I like it alright. Now I can start saving for a gsx, well after my credit cards are gone.

I drive an 01 Sentra GXE. Love the damn thing. Got it for 6750 out the door about 15 months ago, with 69k on the clock. Damn near 0 problems in 15 months and 20k miles, outside of regular maintenance. Mine is 5spd, but they come in auto. Dunno about the sun roof.

Now that I think of it, my GF drives an auto 98 Lexus ES300 with a sunroof. I think they go for around ~7k with 100k miles or so on em. She bought hers from my dad for 5k though @ 127k miles, she got a nice deal.

Can't go wrong with a nissan or lexus imo.

Bringing this thread back from the dead!!!

So saturday, a guy ran a red light and t-boned me, totaling my 94 nissan altima daily driver.

Ive got about 5k to spend on a new D/D.
When i buy a new car i like to upgrade, so i dont really want anything older or more of a bucket.
Im looking for something that gets at least 200 miles per tank of gas, preferably over 250. (so better than 20-25mpg, but still has some nice luxury to it. Id like leather seats, and comfort. Ive got the dsm to beat and go fast in, so it doesnt really need to be fast, id rather it be smooth and just comfortable.
oh yeah, most likely automatic.

Things ive had in mind are:
Lexus es300 (bad is they are only v6)
Acura legend/tl/cl
Maybe a nice audi

Anybody have any other suggestions... or suggestions on what to stay away from?
I dont want anything to mod, ive already got one car to do that to. Maybe just a nice stereo and some tint and im set.

yea the 1996 and up a4's are really nice. i had a 1.8t quattro and that thing was so fun to drive and they are pretty cheap too. you could prob find one down here in socal for roughly 3-4k if you bargain and look around. good luck

He showed me a link of a pretty nice g20 on CL and i e-mailed the guy, hopefully its still for sale because its pretty nice!

Ive heard some of the audi's are hit and miss as to some wierd random problems...


I probably drove my altima 15-20k miles in the year that i had it at the most. My daily commute to work is 11 miles round trip. The rest of the time i drive around the city for various normal crap and take the random 30 minute trip on the freeway. The longest i drive is to my property out in the country where i hunt and thats like 2 - 2 1/2 hours away, so this is going to be mainly city driving.
