I just got my second 1st gen talon turbo a few days ago. I wasn't into doing stuff myself the last time I had one so I never learned much about em, but this time it'll be different! I had an AWD which some shady tree mechanic was putting my clutch in and didn't tell me that my tranny housing was cracked and I ended up blowing the casing apart on a missed shift, and the flywheel broke apart and knocked off a piece of the block and got stuck in the radiator. So needless to say I sold it.

Now I just got this Tsi from my friend who's brother bought my old one-go figure. I couldn't pass the deal up. Basically I'm here to say what's up 'cause I see this is the noob forum.

I have a honda crx that has an acura integra motor that me and a friend installed and it's my other money pit. I know a lot about honda's just not DSM's.

What's the best thing I could do for the first step to pant-shitting status? It's got the fuel pump rewired and hacked exhaust. I've heard injectors, MAF Controller, IC Pipes. What would you do?

Thanks for all your suggestions!

Try setting a goal for yourself, horse power or quarter mile time goal, modding your car can get pricey. read tech guide ( VERY HELPFUL ) do research

Yea, I do a lot of research, I also like opinions. I did see the guide at the top and read through it, just thought I could get some opinions, maybe things you guys did when you first got yours.

It looks like I'm going to get 650's and a MAF Translator to start off with.

I just changed the valve cover gasket and plugs, also put a bigger hose from the intake manifold to the BOV, now it sputters it full boost around 5 grand. Hmm.?

tuning guide all the way. it's the best way to start.

kick the free mods if they aren't already done. and looking into getting a BOOST GAUGE. thats the real first step. then get a MBC. intake, exhaust.

if you ever need to know something vfaq.com will be your best friend.

but before anything like that. . . DO MANTINENCE! fix anything that needs it. you'll pay out the ass in the long run for it. :talon:

If you just put 650's and a MAFT on your car I doubt it would even run. You need an AFC or an eprom chip setup like a dsm link to get your fuel trims in order.
Try knowing what you're talking about before stating stupid shit. The MAFT has the ability to tune, just like an SAFC does.

The MAFT is designed to use a GM MAF. That's the only way it will work.
