whats this noise? (fresh motor)

weird noise on new motor, i have a video of the noise but can't really tell where its coming from, only at idle, goes away with throttle, only been driving it for 2 days.
also the car sounds like it's cammed at 800 or 900 rpm and im almost positive that there's supposed to be stock cams in there

It almost sounds like knock. check compression and timing.

I don't think it's a knock almost sounds like valve tapping. Are you using hydraulic lifters or solid? Can you feel the vibration in the head if you touch it? Who built the motor? You might need your valves relashed but it's hard to say without seeing it in person. I wouldn't drive the car until you figure that out or you might be rebuilding it again. What's your oil pressure at idle?

I disagree, this sounds like it's in the bottom end to me. It's slight, but it's there.

Yank the pan and see where you're at.

damn i didnt want to hear it but ok. i can check all that in the morning only problem is i absolutely need to drive it to work in the morning and that's it, i can leave it there, think that would hurt anything? I've been babying it like i should obviously, if it goes away or for that fact i can't hear it any more at any sound response at throttle does that change anything?

btw stock hydraulic lifters i will check for vibration and all that in the morning and let you guys know, my heart is currently broken

It does sound like cams. This is weird. Who built it? Is it blueprinted?

It also seems like an engine tuning issue. Has the ecu been reflashed or retuned?

Doesn't matter dude something isn't right. I would find a ride asap to work I personally would not drive it anywhere. Sebba is right it could be in the bottom end. It's hard to tell from the video. Is a days pay worth another rebuild? Did you build it or a shop? If it's rod bearing failure it can only make noise at certain rpm regardless of that it's still causing damage weather it be in the top or bottom end.

alright, a good friend of mine built it, who also owns a shop, it's probably not blueprinted and its problably a stock ecu otherwise the seller didn't tell me

Can you tell more about how your tuning your car? You have a turbo on it right? Tell us about the mods or at least what you know from the seller.

At the very least drain your oil and look for metal.

im sorry no my info needs to be updated i blew the motor this is a fresh built all motor for breaking in eagle rods, weiesco pistons, nitrated crank arp studs, ported head ss valves and retainers stock lifters and cams, i live in an apartment complex no space to drop my oil pan i have access to a garage filled with tools thats my problem, i have to tow it there i guess
