hey,

so, i was watching the fast and the furious today( great movie but still has a bunch of stuff wrong with it....) and i saw something that made me ponder. this is kind of a stupid question but i was just wondering...

what is the point of a roof scoop??? is there one or is it purely esthetic?

if there is a point, anybody know? because rally cars have them too. like the subaru WRX's in rally have em. just wondering.....

In rally driving they are used for ventalation. The windows are up or solid in rally cars and it gets hot as shit in there I bet.

They also remove all of the blower motors and ducting for the ventilation. It's to get fresh air into the cabin in pure race cars.

Also, on a lot of mid and rear engine cars, they have roof scoops to allow more air to the engine.

they take out all climate controls so they need fresh air. cut a slit in the roof, slap a roof scoop on=ventillation
