I need to drive about 45 minutes tomorrow to go pick up my 1g BOV. What does that piece do? Can I just seal it off and still drive? :banghead:

it wont open and you will probably get alot of compressor surge get some super glue and glue the nipple back on it will last the time you need till you swap it for the 1g

Alright, thanks!

If you find a small metal tub and put it in the inside of the nipple the glue will hold better. Looks as though you have broken it off very close to main housing...

A better, semi-permanent fix would be to carefully drill and tap the old hole to accept a 1/8npt barb fitting and thread that in there with some Teflon. It will be less prone to breaking off again that way. The best thing to do is swap it with a 1g valve though. You will need an adapter but they are easy to come by.

Yes swapping to the 1g would be better for sure, but if you are on a budget and have the know how then the above would be best!!!

I'd probably try JB welding or epoxying a hose barb in there as a temporary fix.

This brings back memories. One of my first threads on this site was a photo asking what that black thing with the broken nipple is.

haha the P.O. of my gsx did that... it didnt work verry well haha now its decorating my desk

Like otheres said get the evo 1g or evo 9 ( i got the last one and its bolt on!)

I super glued it back on and I'm picking up a 1g tomorrow. I do have a question about it but ill start a new thread.

That fiting on your bov equilizes the pressure on both sides of the bov when your throttlebody is open. when the throttlebody door closes there is greater pressure on the turboside allowing the valve to open. without that connected it would cause a boost leak from the throttlebody and also your bov.
