What's More Cost Effective? Turbo rebuilt turbo 420a or built turbo edz 2.4?

Now before everybody goes and tells me that it's not worth it, and that I should go out and buy a GS-T, GSX, or TSi, I really dont care how much money in the long run is gonna be the difference, I'm set on keeping this car and not getting a 4G63. Anywho, What do you guys think would be more cost effective? Either way I'm going to get another whole long block that's either a 420a or an EDZ 2.4 from a stratus. If I go 420a, I'm gonna rebuild with low comp pistons, bigger cams, new valvetrain, all that fun stuff. But if I go EDZ, I'm gonna go with performance parts made for the SRT-4's (not stock internals at all) and still use the 420a rebuilt head. So either way, the head's gonna be the same, so the turbo components will all be the same, so the supporting mods would be the same. I'm looking to pretty much rebuild this whole car from the ground up, replacing every suspension part, fix every bit of rust, new paint, re-do the whole interior hopefully. What do you guys think besides getting a new car?

I have a 420aT that is a monster. Last time at the track was in the 12's with a boost leak. Love this car. Its got its issues right now but once on megasquirt these things have a TON of potential.

My car vs. 2004 Mach 1 with all sorts of mods.

Yeah, this summer my uncles gonna repair every single inch of rust on the thing and paint it, he's a really good welder. I know that the passenger side mount's gotta be fabricated and the oil pan has to be notched and whatnot.

Do you know if the 2.4 has more power potential mod for mod than the 420a? It might be worth it but a properly done 420aT is definitely a lot of fun. Eagle Rods and JE pistons work amazing, my car has had the crap beat out of it for years on 20 psi and has never had an issue with engine internals.

well if i was you i would look up a member on here his name is glowryder and check his car out. he did a 2.4 turbo swap and he has a nice ride. i think he is making just over 400whp. if you dont care about the money then i would go with the 2.4. you can make either car just as fast if you go with the right set up. but in the long run i think you could make easier power with the 2.4 block and the 420a head.
