Whats is the name of this gasket/seal

It is located behind the oil filter housing when you take the stud out that the oil filter screws on. I went to a parts store and they can't identify it. Anyone have the correct name for it or even an idea??? Its broken too obviously

That is the seal in the oil cooler.

The Mitsu part number should be: MD620908

That is for a 91-94 AWD, but will probably be the same for you.

Loctite that stud and torque it to spec. If you overtorque it, you WILL ruin the oil cooler and cause the oil and coolant to mix.

God DAMN that was fast, thanks a million man. I wish I could get service like this everywhere, wouldn't happen to know the torque spec off hand would ya, Im guess 30 ft lbs.

It's like 27-31 or something, 30 is fine. Ft-lbs, of course.

Ya I just had that #### sucker break too. Dumped all my oil and blew up my turbo.

Does the 90 style oil cooler have that? I would switch to the 90 style cooler just to get away from having that happening again.

Um also what type of locktite works best for something like that? Red or blue and doesnt the oil mixing with it mess up the locktite? No real way to clean ALL the oil from with inside the filter housing.

I didnt use locktight I just torqued it. If you need a seal I have an extra one just let me know.

Those things are extremely hard to keep them in their spot when putting them in. Mine was a PITA

I am going 90 housing on my fresh rebuilt, after my coolant and oil mixed through the housing. tore out all my rod bearings.

Ya I just found out I trashed atleast a balance shaft bearing too.

Around 3.5k it gets a lil bitchy and at 4k+ it whines like hell now.

Going to convert to 90 style too when I rebuild.
